I have no advice, seeing as I am new to having a bunny, but we all truly hope that Bindi is feeling better soon. I'm thinking about you guys and hope that things calm down for you soon so that you can relax and have time to properly deal with losing Stormy. Hugs and vibes to you and Bindi.

I'm going to try leaving the cone off for the day. His lump thing is now pretty hard and looks like a hard prune. It's pretty gross. The vet said that it would dry up like a scab and then fall off. So I think it's beyond the point that licking will hurt it. As long as he doesn't pick it off.

I took the cone off and gave him his cardboard house back (which he sleeps in) and he was so glad to have it back. I had to take it away so he wouldn't get stuck in there with the cone. He's in there sleeping right now. He ate almost all his veggies at breakfast. Can't wait till we can stop the CC. He's so difficult about it. I keep telling him he needs to be a good patient like his brother was. Stormy was so much more easy going with medical stuff.

That all sounds very promising, LPT. I think he is clearly on the mend.
And we all know that a very sick bunny is cooperative, but the first sign of recovery is feistiness, so I think he is doing great being uncooperative.
Glad to hear he got a good sleep in his house. AND is eating his veggies. A return to normal food must be better for him, isn't it?

I didn't realize that the lump is going to dry and fall off. That will make you both feel so much better when it happens. Does he get a medicated salve to put on the area when it does fall off if it's still a bit raw or exposed underneath?

Go find your own favorite cardboard box, now, and crawl in for some much needed rest.

He finished his veggies and ate some hay and pellets. Should I cut out the CC completely or keep giving it? He's at a pretty low weight right now. But giving the CC is frustrating and angering him. I'd love to just stop it now that he's eating.

If he is eating on his own, I would stop the CC. Don't want to over fill his tummy, and he'll probably like the break

I'd be tempted to cut it down to once a day but not stop completely. Possibly pick a time of day when he is the most tired and least uncooperative (too sleepy to struggle much). Then give him a dose at that time. That way he gets more in his system to promote weight gain and has balanced nutrition.

Continued Healing Vibes to BB!! I know absolutely nothing about his illnesses and how to help treat them -- but just wanted to give my love and hope you are both doing okay physically and mentally as quickly as you can be expected too!

Much love and healing vibes again to both of you!

I'm very glad to hear that Bindi is eating all of his veggies and some hay and pellets too. Until he's back to his normal consumption of hay and pellets, it would probably be best to give him one or two feedings of CC a day.

I've only had to give CC once, but my bunny didn't like it and got very upset. He does not like to be handled at all and works himself up into a real state. After a few horrible sessions I came up with a different way to get some in him, by making it into little cookies, then baking them for a few minutes in my toaster oven. It's possible that the heat of the oven may have destroyed some of the nutrients, but I had a terrible struggle trying to get him to eat it the normal way, so I came up with the cookie idea, and I knew at least he was getting food in his system. I mixed the CC and water in equal parts so it had a thicker consistency than normal. I put little nickel sized portions on a baking tray, then after a few minutes, put them in the toaster oven. It's been a while and I don't remember the details. I only baked them for 5 or 10 minutes and I guess the oven was on 300 -350 degrees. I really should have written down exactly what I did. I let them cool and offered one to him. He wouldn't eat them at first, but did start eating them after a few tries. My other bunny, who did not need CC, enjoyed the CC cookie nonetheless.

I hope that Bindi keeps steadily improving!

I'm sure that making cookies is fine. I got an instruction sheet that said to use less and less water to make them dry balls that are more like cookies anyway since some bunnies prefer it when they are getting better. Sounds like a good recipe.

Oh Boy. Reading this is like going through everything I did with Rabbit Pie all over again. We all have one more thing in common - the sickening stress about a sick bunny that no other stress compares to. I'm feeling just that now. SO happy that Bindi Loo pulled through. How is he doing at this very moment?

Thanks for your continued concern, guys. I have good news: Bindi is doing much better. He's really perked up the last few days. He's eating all his meals, begging for treats and pooping lots of big poops. For some reason, he doesn't feel like he needs to use the litter box but I'm just relieved the poos are plentiful.

The only thing is he does still seem somewhat wobbly. Last night, he stood up to reach for a piece of lettuce and fell over backwards. He was okay, just a bit confused. He's still pretty inactive but hopefully that will improve soon. I'm not noticing any tilt but it's kind of hard since he's so fluffy.

That cone was obviously stressing him horribly. As soon as I took it off (on Tuesday) he started perking up. The scab hasn't fallen off yet but he's not bothering it. We have a vet apt. tonight for a re-check.

Would love an update on Bindi Loo this morning.
I think it's time for both of you to have some relief and rest. How are you both, + your hubby + Miss Olivia (who I know is feeling sad and neglected) doing today?

I can remember one morning Mimzy trying to periscope to see me and then (and it all went in some weird kind of slow motion) he began to go over backwards and his upward eye just got this look like "Uh-oh" and then he softly plopped into the hay on the other side of his storage box/convalescence bed with his feet up in the air for a moment. It was almost like watching a cartoon rabbit.
He was unhurt but it sure scared me at first thinking he would hurt himself.

Words can't express how glad I am to hear that Bindi is improving. I am thrilled for you both!
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Very relieved to hear he's doing so much better. Hopefully he'll start using the litter box again before too long and become more steady on his feet. Hodari has e. cuniculi and, though it's been under control for seven months, she still is still wobbly when she tries to do "head binkies." The vet said it's common for that to happen, probably because there is some scarring on the brain, he said. While she was sick her litter box habits went downhill, I think because she had trouble getting in and out of the box when she was dizzy; then it just became a habit for her to pee on the floor beside the box, even after she regained most of her balance. Now she has two litter boxes side by side. It took several weeks for me to figure out how to get her to use a box again. Continued (((vibes))) to your sweet Bindi Loo.

Yay!!! Continued vibes for Bindi but soooooo good to hear the good news with him!!! You both could really use some rest and a break. And I'm sure Miss Olivia would love to have her momma back. You've been through so much and I can't express what an inspiring person you are for staying on top of Bindi and giving him the care he needs after everything that happened with Stormy. You are a FANTASTIC bunny momma! <3

I'm so glad to hear that Bindi is again eating and pooping well. I hope that the wobbliness will get better soon too.
