Has anyone tried the product and liked it? I was looking at it and wondering if giving it to my bun wouldn’t hurt.  Have it be something like a vitamin supplement.  Like how parents would be like give a little kid vitamin gummies.  I’ve tried searching the Forum to see if people liked it.  But it’s only shown that people have gotten it.

Well, my rabbits seem to like it fine. My rabbits don’t get a huge bunch of pellets either and I did end up mixing it with an Oxbow Bunny Basics Timothy, just because I had that as well. I say give it a try.

Thanks Sarita. =] Skipper is a constant shedder and I want something that will help prevent hair build up in her GI tract.

Oooo let me know how you like it! I give my buns vitamins in their water but its just a general one and not one targeted specifically for digestion. Sarita brought up a very good point tho. One of our buns is a Jersey Wooly and he’s in the process of shedding his entire coat of baby fur as his new adult fur grows in. It’s a total mess! And I am always brushing him becuase I’m afraid he’ll ingest too much hair and develop GI stasis. So far no pearl poops but I’m keeping on eye on him. I’ll mention this to my sister since he is technically her bun and see if she wants to get some for him to just be on the safe side!

Oh, I don’t think this is going to prevent hair build up in the GI tract – is this claiming to do that?

We just started using it this week! My pet thinks they are the BEST treats EVER! They rank the same as carrots. When I give it to him, he runs and hides to eat it. He only does that to his favorite treats.

My rabbit is very prone to GI Stasis due to his molts. We have tried everything– brushes, stomach meds, belly rubs, more hay, no “treats” (vitamins are treats in this house ), etc, but we still battle with it. For 2 years, he has been on the digestive papaya vitamin that is supposed to do the same thing. I never noticed a difference. I’ll let you all know by the next molt if this seemed to help! (He is molting now)

Update! So I went to Petsmart to buy Skipper’s Oxbow Oat Hay. To my surprise they had the Oxbow Digestive Supplement. I was super worried about Skipper because her poo had been very small aand dry. So I picked it up and fed it to her the minute I got home. In a few hours her poos were normal sized and moist! I’m sold on the product. It’s going to be a regualar pick up from BB now with my hay. =]

Hmmm…that’s interesting. Glad it worked for you.

Thank you Sarita. I am too! =] Something in her digestive system must have been off because she had twice as much poo in her litter box this morning. Her poo count had dropped off at the beginning of this week and had concerned me. I wasn’t sure at first if it was because of the schedule change this week with school and work starting up again. But with it being small and dry yesterday before the vitamin and normal and moist after giving it to her. It must have kicked her stomach back into gear.

I’m glad it worked for you! We didn’t see a difference. It is a healthy treat, so we will keep with it and let you all know if it does anything long term. Our buns just switched to the freshest bag of botanical hay we’ve ever gotten, and THAT has made a huge difference! I know it is the hay though. He is cleaning through all his hay piles, then he leaves me a fresh batch of droppings. (Since we are going through a molt, that is a great gift! )

I guess I’m a skeptic and would question whether one dose would really have an effect…I would be interested in seeing if it really helps in the future. Do keep us updated on this.

I just bought some of this a couple of days ago. I was actually looking for Benebac as my rabbit has been having runny poop ever since she went on a round of antibiotics for head tilt. I didn't even know Oxbow made supplement tabs! Anyways I gave one tab to my girl in the evening and the next morning her poop looked more normal. It took some time to adjust but now she gets two "cookies" (she thinks they're treats) per day and things are on the up and up.
