I decided to make this "Blog" type thing of our house being built! I thought some of you guys would be interested and since this a rabbit forums I thought I would share my experiences on building while having bunnies.

First I wanted to show you some pictures of the bunnies I JUST took a few minutes ago. My grandma yelled up to me and said the bunnies would make a cute picture right now and she was right! Look at these two cuties!

So far the bunnies have been doing good through this time. Since we live with my grandparents at the moment they don't get to come out of their cage and they are going crazy! Every time I leave the pen unlatched they push it open and are gone! I am working on making a little NIC cube fence so they can run around in the storage room and I try to let them in their outdoor pen but there are a lot of acorns in there right now.

Now onto our house. We started building around the end of July.

First they dug for the foundation of the basement.

Then they put up the frames so they could cement our basement walls. Our basement is a walk out basement so half is under ground and half is not.

Here is what the walls look like after they took the frames off.

Then the view from on top

Then they poured the cement floor yesterday!

It is hard to tell from the pictures on what it really looks like. I am super excited for our house to be finished but sadly everything wont be done until Nov. or Dec.

what cute bumbas! (as chachca would say )

I love watching houses be built. My parents are currently living in a house they built (modified from a model). My dad loved taking pictures on the 35mm to develop and show us (having a moment of feeling old). But what was really cool was seeing the progress. And it's nice to be able to move in to a clean new home

FrankieFlash: We haven't moved into a house yet without redoing it. 2 houses ago their was an unfinished basement so we finished that, and our last house was completely redone! The people who owned it before us had built it themselves and let me say, it was the stupidest layout EVER! We redid a lot of the walls and repainted everything! It will be nice to have everything the way we want it! I will say it is more work then I thought it would be...

Eeek! I'm looking forward to watching your progress on the house. Our family built our current house 10 years ago. 2 full years of blood, sweat and tears went into it. But it is a beautiful masterpiece and we adore it!!!! It's very stressful but you get exactly what you want, and you pay much less then you would if you just bought one. And at least it's custom made to your liking! Your buns are soooo cute!!! Are they a boy and girl couple? They are priceless!

Mocha & lulu are so cute! And the building pictures are great, it looks beautiful out there. I hope the buns will love it!
I would love to get a house custom built, seems like a lot of work but the end result would be well worth it I'm sure.

We are in [Edited: in the north woods of WI.] [Mocha, it's Rabbitpam here. I deleted the name of the town you wrote because I just read your post about someone giving you problems online, and I didn't want you to post the name of this town you are in. Better safe than sorry, right? You might find someone you don't know sitting on your beautiful dock...Me! Love it!] I love it up here! Everyone think we are crazy to move up into the cold north woods. But, we love it!

You are not crazy! You're so lucky you live in the cold. I miss having seasons. =p I grew up in a city about an hour away from San Fran. in Cali before I moved to FL. I loved the cold weather and changing of the seasons. You don't get that in FL. You get hot, really hot, warm, and a warm cold. I've been begging my bf to let us move up north when he's done with school. I'm thinking New York or northern Washington. =]

I love Washington state, however people always complain about the rain. Hey, we could have a lot worse like extreme weather!

Mocha, I love the views

@LoveChaCha If it's just rain then it doesn't bug me. =p I hate Florida rain though. Florida has these insane thunder storms where the house literally shakes from the thunder. In the past couple of months we've had thunder strike right over the house at least three times. I have to sit with Skipper on my lap during the storms because she's so freaked out.

@Mocha What is framing a house?

Framing is when they put up all of the wood for the walls. Sometimes you call it studs in the walls. I will post pictures tomorrow of what framing looks like.

We forgot to take a picture last night of the framing so we took it this morning! It is starting to take shape and is easier to figure out what it will look like!

Oh my gosh! So jelly. ;P I've always wanted a basement so bad! Stupid Florida with terrible sandy soil and sink holes. >.<

Wow! I have a lot to catch up on! I took a little weekend off at the campground to try and relax (which was a fail) and I came back and so much had been done!

They put the main level floor on

The also put walls on the outside of the basement

They put up ALL the walls in the basement (just the frames as of right not, can't drywall till we have a roof) This is the view when you walk in the big door from our basement. (they took off that sideways board,  in the picture above)

And now they are wiring the basement! The most boring part, Haha!

They have two of our upper level walls up today! at the end of the day I will be sure to post pictures of how far they got!

It is around 3200sq. ft. It is the biggest house we have ever had! My mom is becoming overwhelmed on how big it seems! She doesn't want such a big house to clean! Haha

It must be exciting to see your house being built! I've lived in the same house my whole life (21 years) and it was brand new back then. Now it's old and wearing down. I would love to see my own house being built, that would be neat! Maybe one day I will! =D

Oh and BTW, you live in a gorgeous area!! I bet the bunnies are going to love being outside in that green, green grass!! (if you let them outside?)

Oh they LOVE it! I have a very safe outdoor pen that I built last year but added a lot to it this year! I am going to make a post about it as soon as I get the video to upload!

I wish I lived there! haha my grass is dull and dying in my backyard but Rascal likes to dig in the dirt apparently so it's okay for him. I put the pen for the bunnies half on grass and half on the dirt/dead grass. I guess the sprinklers don't reach that spot LOL Poor grass. =(

Awww, I'm soo jealous! I used to live Western NY (a year and 2 months ago) and the scenery was always really beautiful with lots of outdoors and since I've moved to Pittsburgh I don't see anything but city life. Sometimes I miss not being able to lay in the grass with a nice book all comfortable with no noise but nature -- but I really enjoy the city too! And because of Pittsburgh I have my bunbuns so I can't be unhappy. We live in a condo that I love but I can't wait until we get older and sell this place and HOPEFULLY get a house with a yard! (He totally doesn't want a yard because he hates yard work!)
