Rabbits can most deffinetely get both. We treated Foo for both with Revolution, which we got from the vet. We only saw ticks on her between her ears, but that’s a spot bunnies can’t reach, so check there. The Revolution worked quickly, and it was cheap too. Our vet has it for $17 for a month supply, but because the dosage is so small for rabbits, one month is equal to two doses.

so am i able to use Revolution as a precautionary measure? or is that product strictly for the treatment after the fleas/and or ticks are present?

You can use it as a precationary measure for Fleas, Ticks, and Heartworms or so I was told

You can always treat your yard, versus your pet. My parents never treated their dogs for fleas, but they never got them. They had the yard treated. You may like that better, because there won’t be any fleas biting on you either! Make sure you wait however long it is required before taking your buns for a hop in the yard after treatment though. Also, make sure it is OK if your buns snacks on the grass too.

Also, we do not treat our yard or our buns. Every yard touching ours has a dog. However, our yard doesn’t have fleas. I’m betting everyone else is treating their pets, so that they don’t bring the bugs into the house.

that is a really good idea.. id rather get the yard done than put something on my bun.

i dont THINK there are fleas out there.. my husband and i have never been bitten.. i suppose i may just be an over protective mumma. :p

I didn’t see anyone else mention this, but my vet told me to never use Frontline on rabbits, the active ingredient is poisonous.  I guess Advantage and Revolution are ok, I see most above are using Revolution.

First of all, HEY, from another Canadian! Yeti is such a cute name for a bun. Especially a Canadian bun!

Make sure you ask your vet the correct dosage for the Revolution. I have 3 under 5 lb buns and my vet used 1 tube for all 3 and measured it out according to their weight. You def do not want to put too much on your bunny.

Also, how old is your bunny?

                                CANADIAN EH?!?

thanks for that tidbit of info.. i need all the help i can get

new bunny owner fears are comin all at once,

my bun is a rescue and we dont know his age.. when we took him in to the first vet to get him neutured and get his overall check up he said he didnt know about an age.. which is really odd..

but judging by his weight, his over all size and what i’ve learnt through people on BB my best guess is anywhere from 12-18 months.
