So last night was Buster’s weekly clean out of her litterbox. It was all nice and clean in there….

Overnight she decides to make 3 piles of poop all around her pen, not in her box.

She is a cow poop bunny, so some of them were really big, and she might be straining.  I am always alarmed at weird behavior b/c we have had so many near death GI episodes with her. Any idea what this could be from? I was thinking the poor girl was trying to get the big big BIG poops out and was taking them out w/her mouth b/c she was straining so hard. But in 3 piles? Not liker her.

Anyway, this morning, she WAS in her box and going in it.

Are they back to normal size this morning?
If she’s prone to serious GI episodes, I would have the vet on speed dial just for phone consultations. Maybe take pix to email in case you need to treat her or bring her in.
I always try to pop a few poos or a small bit of wet litter from the pile just cleaned out into the fresh pan so the bunny can smell her scent in there and go right in.

Sorry I didn’t recognize it was Buster from your other recent post. It sounds like she is trying to cope with this chronic condition and do the best she can. I know how much you love her, and I’m sure you are keeping a very close watch on her. Maybe a new litter pan with a lower front entrance would make it easier for her to get in and out, also.

Yea, she is trying the poor thing I found more all over the towel this morning. The litter pan isn’t so high, but i’ll look for a lower one….
They are somewhat back to normal size, but I know its never consistent. Varies greatly!
We are going away next week and I hope she’s ok with our bunny sitter!
