Hey guys just been reading some fourms about rabbit breads and found it a bit confusing cus I live in Australia I have two rabbits jet and theo I got jet from a pet shot and theo from a breeder the pet shop said jet is a mini dewarfe lop and the breeder said theo is a dewarfe lop. They are about the same size but theo has a boof head and a longer tail and jet is more streamline with a really shot tail. Jet is one week older but is just a little smaller. I would post a pic but don’t know how to on an IPhone lol can anyone help sort this confusion out as to what breed they actuall are?

Well, most likely the bunny from the pet store is a mixed breed. That’s usually the case. Probably a cross between a Mini-Lop and a Dwarf.

How much do they weigh? From your pic they both look like Mini-Lops to me, but like I said, most likely mixed breed.

            Hey,
i posted this on another thread somewhere..but here in Aus the american ‘mini lop’ is our dwarf lop and the american holland lop is our mini lop.
So in other words if your buns were bred to the breed standard your dwarf lop should be larger than your mini lop. Unfortunatley many pet shops and breeders will sell lops that are either mixed breed, or sell dwarf lops as mini lops (mini lops seem harder to come by here). The important thing is that you have two lovely bunnies yay!
Mini lops weigh up to about 1.5kg and are more compact and round than dwarf lops who can weigh up to 3kg
