I made Belle a new toy today after cleaning her out (she’s not always that tidy ) and just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.  I had made her one that sat on the floor but she’d chewed away at the cardboard too much so I decided to change things up a little with her new one.  I filled it with her “treat” hay so she gets pretty interested straight away!  Her treat hay is a richer and more green type of hay that she gets a few times a week or stuffed into toys, I think it’s called herbage.

        I think she likes it

This is brilliant, haven’t thought of using egg holders before!! I love her little pen too, is her door always open?

Thank you Yeah egg holders are good, we usually have some lying around – just make sure you peel the stickers off hah
No I close it at night or when I leave the room because my room isn’t 100% rabbit proof. When I’m there (pretty much all day every day because I have no social life ) it is left open and she can do as she likes. It’s just a small dog pen we had for my little terrier when she was a pup – I’m going to make her a bigger wooden one soon though

Aww cute, I built a nic cube cage for my buns a couple of weeks ago and they love it. They love having more than one level to jump up on!
I am deff going to do that idea for a toy, mine log having toilet rolls folded over at the side with hay and treats in and trying to get them out! So cute

I really like it. You gave me an idea to do something similar for Cinnabun

Stitchntwinks – I used to give her tubes stuffed with hay but once she ate some it would just fall out everywhere, so messy haha! Now I just cut them up and let her toss them about your idea is good though, never thought of folding the edges When I build her new cage it will have a second floor. I’ve been thinking about putting a box in that cage upside down as a second floor where her blanket is but I’m not sure if it will take up too much room with her litter tray on the other side :/

Cinnabun – Thanks What are you thinking of?

This is such a great idea! I’ve been trying to think of new toys for my little buns — we bought them a huge Oxbow hay thing — it was almost like a little house made completely out of hay and they would climb inside of it and chew it apart. It slowly went from a hide-out to a tunnel to now… almost nothing. LOL. They’re destructive little buns… this is such a good idea! Might keep them entertained for a little bit once their Oxbow tunnel is demolished!

Thanks That sounds like a really cool toy! I’ve been trying to come up with new ideas for Belle toys too.

I’ve been watching her play with it and it is quite funny to watch. She tries to eat the hay but the toy swings and it looks like she gets frustrated but also enjoys the challenge. She’s eaten more of that hay than of her normal hay so it is helping with that anyway!

this is such a good idea!

I just stared dangling things from the top of Lola’s cage and she LOVES it. i think it’s kind of a challenge for them to see how high up on their back legs they can go.

Hi. My Huey has a big thing for toilet rolls, like still with the paper on, not just the inner cardboard. He can demolish one within about 20 minutes if he is really in the mood, and it has stopped him trying to dig up the carpet too!

We have a hanging toy that we got from a petstore called a Kabob and it has a bell at the end…. I swear — the buns will spend hours at a time just hitting the bell with their noses.

That is a cute toy. The cage is nice also. My buns cage is made out of NIC Cubes but I just got done the other night redoing the floor the floor is a tray to an old dog crate and ceramic tiles. I am hoping this helps with her keeping a dirty house!

                                      Hey IsabellaRobyn

nope, he just rips at it like he is posessed! have put pic below of the one i gave him when i got home from work (about half hour ago) He’s sulking under the table atm as its hot, so he’s not really bothered too much by it, but he’ll get back to it later.

That’s so funny – I think Belle is going to be a little chew and munch instead of just chewing
