Rascal is content with how much I feed him, but Valentine seems like she is ALWAYS hungry.  When I feed her she wolfs down her food in about a minute.  I feed her the same amount as Rascal.  They are about the same size, but I do not know how much Val weighs yet.  Rascal weighs 5lbs.  I feed 1/3 cup of pellets every day to both but I split it up and feed half that in the morning and half in the evening.  Then I feed about 2 or 2 1/2 cups of fresh greens and occasionally a treat like fruit.

Last night I paid attention to how she eats and compared to Rascal it’s almost as if she were starved.  She eats her veggies so fast.  Rascal eats about half and saves the rest for later.  She eats everything right then and there like it was going to be taken from her.

        Should I feed her more?

They both eat a fair amount of hay.

I don’t think so…her behavior may be indicative of her past rather than just being hungry.

Okay, I was worried I wasn’t feeding her enough.

            Thanks!

See if she’s eating enough of the hay. It may also be that she doesn’t care for it as much, so isn’t eating enough of that. If not, she may like a different kind. If she’s not wild about Timothy, for example, you can try her on something softer, like Orchard Grass, or heavier like Mature Oat Hay. I wouldn’t increase the other foods you’re giving, just play with more enticing hays. That’s better for her digestion, too.

I recently got Orchard grass and both buns are crazy for it and it went so fast! I just ordered timothy hay so I will see how they respond to that. Valentine eats a lot of hay too so it’s not a problem of not eating the hay. =/ I guess what ever her past was has traumatized her. Poor baby.

I would have gotten more orchard grass this time but the site that I was buying from had it for really expensive and I wanted to get 15lbs.
