Now that I’ve had effie a while and she seems to have settled in, I’m wondering when is best to start toilet training her? She’s almost 7 weeks old

Right away! Litter training isn’t training so much as it is setting up their environment so they are successful. Set up the cage with the litter box and no bedding on the floor and she’ll probably get the hang of it pretty quickly (though she might not be 100% right away).

We got our first one when he was 12 weeks old and he caught on after a few days of putting him in the litter box when he peed and was in the play area (which includes our carpet :X) and when we could manage to catch him getting ready to poo we’d put in the litter box too and any ones he left on the floor we’d put him in and then let him see us dropping them in. It worked really well — although it all went out the door when we got our 2nd and 3rd rabbits — and when he was neutered. But now that he’s neutered we haven’t had any problems with him!

              * sorry — not 12 weeks, 8 weeks! I apparently can’t count how many weeks are in a month.
