Hi, 

Sooo buns have been having all meals and playtime and naps etc together all week, with no aggression and the humping is slowly dwindling, they are grooming and napping together but split at bedtime even then there is literally one set of bars between them, and they lie either side of bars,

So it’s currently 4pm and theve been together in the room they will be in forever since 830 ish this morn, there has still been humping but stitch hasn’t done it as much as normal and stops mostly when told ‘no’ 

Just wondering as the day is getting on should I let them spend the night together? I have been able to go upstairs have a shower do housework etc without too much worry, just don’t want to push it really I am a bit of a nervous bun mum though, any info advise would be fab, thanks in advance

If they’ve been together all day, they’re probably ready to spend the night together. If you’re really worried, you could sleep in the room they’re in tonight to make sure there’s no fighting. Unless you’ve seen biting/chasing recently, they probably won’t fight during the night. If there’s still no fighting in a day or two, you probably don’t need to worry.

Humping is a normal behavior, even in bonded bunnies…I know of one pair of buns that start wildly humping each other every time they get fed. There’s no need to stop them unless the one on the bottom is visibly bothered by it.

Ditto, Fluffy. Id keep them together but sleep very near them so you can break up any fights if need be.

Theres been a lot of humping the last hour and I feel shattered fom watching them for 13 hours and I’m worried I won’t wake if they fight, when r they most active out of interest? Iv never rele seen my bunnies after11 o’clock haha .
I might try again tomorrow

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT! Hahahaha. If you’re a worrywart like me — just sleep out there with them the first night! Let us know how it goes! I’m DYING for your buns to be bonded!

As long as there’s no fighting, it’s fine to leave them alone. Bunnies are crepuscular, which means that they’re most active in the mornings and evenings. Mine are usually the most active around 7-10 AM and 8-11 PM. They’ll probably sleep most of the night anyway.

I chickend out, soo annoyed at myself! And tonight theres been lots of humping, so thats it, tonight its happening no excuse!! Hopefully just going to battle on through, does it count as over night if im sitting with them? Or do i have to be out of sight?

When i cement my buns, I sleep on the floor next to them You don’t have to be out of sight, just gotta let them work it out. It’s good to be nearby just in case though

Yea, well im currently in the pen with them. So gna sit it out till they fall asleep i think then go watch tv or something in the next room! Ahh nervoussss!!!! Need to do it now and i think they are more than ready apart from the humping there fine, eat groom sleep play together!
