While giving Mimzy his metaclopramide tonight he twisted his head oddly and got a squirt of reglan down the wrong tube. He gave two large coughs and I thought there was some wheezing afterward but he seems okay now, if a little stressed.

        Should I worry?

I wouldn’t worry if he seems OK now.
I would call the vet in the morning and let her know, in case she advises you otherwise.

I agree with Pam to call your vet in the morning. When a bunny aspirates, they are more susceptible to pneumonia (as if you need anything more to worry about!), but it is important to know that and watch for that — however, isn’t Mimz on antibiotics now? If so, then you’re ahead of the game at least. But I would still call your vet, let her know what happened and get her advice.

I wouldn`t worry. We aspirate and choke easily because of our voiceboxes. I would think especially if he seems comfy that everything is ok. Your vet could maybe listen to his lungs when he is in again but when you talk to the vet he`ll know what if anything there is to do, but I`m sure he`s okie dokie

How is Mimzy? I’m getting concerned since you haven’t updated in a while.

Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating…just completely swamped with work keeping Mimzy going, the rest of the furries happy and just in general trying not to get overwhelmed by it all.
He’s doing okay. None the worse for the aspiration. Working through the tilt is slow going though. Ironic that a year ago in June I’d come down with sudden onset vertigo and it took me no less than three months to recuperate. One morning I woke up and it was gone. Hope Mimzy is that lucky.
Sorry to worry anyone here. I’m also dealing with some health worries on my hubby’s part. He is very ill right now and we have a lot of concern as to how he will get well.
Will do my best to update more regularly from now on. ((((((((((Big hugs))))))))))))
