Apparently Cinnabun got bored last night while I was asleep and decided to attack a small corner of carpet. Tore it down to the baseboards. It looks like most of the torn carpet was left in a corner uneaten, but I'm monitoring her poops extra close today. My question is this: she hasn't done something like this in a really long time--since way before I got her spayed--so I'm assuming she was suddenly bored. It's not like she doesn't have toys in her Xpen. She has, currently, two cardboard boxes, various tubes of different sizes, a phone book, and several wooden toys. My current theory is that she's had these toys so long that she's now bored of them. How often do you guys switch out buns toys? If she's getting bored with tubes and books, ect, what other kind of toys can I give her? She loves to chew and dig. She's had baskets before, which she finds stimulating for about a day. I really can't have her doing things like this. My landlords are going to throw a fit a year from now when I move out. There are now two corners of the apartment with out carpet (they aren't very big, but still...). Does anyone know any method to patch an area like this?
Posted By Yuki Kathleen on 06/12/2012 07:44 PM Here is a toy idea! My rabbits absolutely LOVE it when I put a phone book inside of a card board box with a door cut out. First of all they love to chew and "re-fernish" the box, but also, having the phone book in a dark area is like being in a dark burrow, and oh boy do my rabbits go to town on that phone book! After a few weeks, the box is usually over flowing with paper shreds and I need to empty it out! It definitely keeps the buns busy, and it distracts them from chewing on my carpet, or any other chewing "no-no's". I hope your bun bun enjoys this!!!
This was such a great idea, thank you! Cinnabun spent most of last night inside her box with a phone book. I woke up with one of the biggest messes ever but it was worth it to see how happy she was. I even got a few good morning binkies!
Case in point....
