so i was/ am thinking about getting another rabbit but I’m not entirely sure if i even can – cause of my parents. but anyway I’m just thinking, for future references as well. anyway, so i was thinking of moving some stuff out of my room (for other reasons) and then using an xpen to make a 6′ by 2 and a half foot cage for milo. he currently lives in a 4′ by 2 and a half foot dog crate. and i could use the dog crate as the cage for my new rabbit. would that work? also my room is not big at alllll. so the cages would be in close vicinity with each other. IF they weren’t bonded and didn’t even meet each other would they still get stressed out by each other’s presence? like if i had milo out, would he try and pester the new bunny? and i could just take turns with having them out? and then once my new bunny is old enough to get spayed (5-6 months) then i will get her spayed – which i know is not cheap and i emailed the vet earlier today and i am still waiting for an estimate. usually its around 200-400$ right? buut i do plan on bonding them eventually. but if it doesn’t work then thats fine too. thanks

In your case, I think it’s a great idea that you decided keep Milo as a single bun.  There is no reason why you and he can’t keep each other company and have your own special bond.  I only have one bunny right now too and I love interacting with her. I don’t know what the future will be as far as a bunny buddy for her especially because she is a senior, but for right now we are enjoying spoiling her and connecting with her as single bunny.

I know it’s disappointing in some ways, but it looks like the time you took to figure out how to deal with possible issues helped you make the decision to keep Milo as a single bunny?   Good job on figuring out was best for you and your situation. Single bunny power!  There are alot of us who have one bunny.  I find it much easier to clicker train my bunny too without having to separate the other bunny out (as you have to do it one at a time).  I don’t prefer one over the other.  There are equal benefits in both.  But right now, having a single bunny is best for me too.

Oh..You should update your other post regarding the decision you’ve made.

I’ve had Chacha since she was 8 weeks of age. She is now 2 1/ 2 years old. We have a funny bond and I love interacting with her.

I too live with my dad. He has no objections about me getting another bun, but I choose not to because: I’m going to school full time, and only working part time. I cannot fit in the needs of another rabbit in case an emergency happens (I only have one emergency fund for one rabbit), and my apartment won’t allow another..

when I graduate from school, I plan to get another

In all, single bunnyhood is not all that bad! You get a lot of attention!

Good for you – MIlo will be happy getting all the attention and you can focus on you and Milo and avoid all the worries of bonding and costs associated with two rabbits.

Having two buns is great, but so is having one spoiled bunny who is the “Prince”! I think it’s a good idea to wait. Bonding is so much easier when you have multiple locations, and not just one room that has to be split up.

I had a single bunny for almost 8 years, and when he passed away I rescued another bunny and he has now been a single bun with me for 3.5 years. I don’t plan on getting another bunny, I really enjoy having the one on one relationship!
