Dear little Blossom loves the spot at the bottom of the Sleepy Heap. Unfortunately the end results is cecals often instead of being noshed end up squashed and glued to Blossy’s botty. Not an attractive look and whilst she is a good groomer this is quite a chore and I think a bunny size Sitz bath is going to be the only way to keep things clean and prevent infection. Can anyone recommend a soap or cleansing product that is safe and bunny friendly to add to the bath.(Sitz bath covers the hips only, in this case will be about 1cm, 1/2 inch deep)

Blossom is a very nervy bunny and gets very distressed about being handled. I managed to hold her calmly whilst I plucked some matts from her pretty white angora coat but when she had had enough she was gone in a flurry of claws and flick of a cotton tail.

I use baby products or dog senstive skin products and keep them to a minimum. Where as with a dog you lather it on, I place a small amount on my finger tips and work it through a small area to make sure I use the minimum possible.

So Baby Shampoo ? Maybe… I was thinking of having two tubs. One with an inch of warm water and soap and another for a rinse.

I get the area wet and then work the shampoo into the area. Then rinse in a tub, issue with putting soap in the water is that you can end up with to much soap on the bunny!

There’s an oatmeal dog shampoo available in kmart I think.

Though with angoras, is bathing okay? I though water on angora fur was trouble but I’m not certain what I’d heard specifically…Sorry!

I’m wondering if trying to loosen poos with paraffin oil would work, then apply cornstarch to soak up the oil residue then brush it out?

Btw, can we see a pic of this Sleepy Heap sometime? It sounds adorable!
