Hi im just wondering if i put a digging box of newspaper ..will my rabbit confuse it for a litter  box?

 

Because i currently use newspaper in his litter box

Most likely, yes. He will have no way to tell the difference between the two. You could always try it, though.

I'd try some real litter instead of newspaper. You could switch to aspen shavings (NOT pine) or Yesterday's News pellets, or Carefresh soft litter, or Aspen pellets, or Feline Pine pellets, for example. It will be much easier to keep clean, they absorb odor, and your bunny will show a preference for shavings or pellets to help you decide.

A newspaper diggy box will be confusing. However, give him a phone book to shred. It's safe paper and ink, and he can dig the open pages and make a fun mess.

I'm assuming you're using newspaper because of the price - you should look into wood stove pellets, you can PM me if you would like the easiest way to find them. Or horse stall pellets, they're like 5 bucks for a huge 40lb bag and it should last over a month! It also is the best odor control I've found!
