Okay, so I have gotten my neatherland dwarf Wendy lots of store bought toys, but she won’t touch them. She does, however, seem to like it when I make her homemade toys. I have run out of ideas, so does anyone have any good toy ideas? I just don’t want wendy to get bored in her cage when I can’t play with her.

Phone books. I gave Squirrel his first phone book last night. At first, he thought it was going to eat him. But, as I showed him the paper could be shredded…. ooooh boy. His pen was soon covered in little scraps of paper

i cant remember where i saw it but you can make homemade treat balls from toilet rolls, basically you cut the toilet roll into about 7 circles and put the circles inside/ontop of each other until it makes a ball then fill it with treats (i hope that made sense) my bun loves chasing it and pulling it apart until the treats come out (i find larger things like leaves are better as they take longer to get out). i also second phone books they looove them..although my bun insists on putting all the shredded paper in his water bowl every time :/ lol
dried pincones can also be fun!

It depends on how big her cage/pen are. Cinnabun loves her digging box. I took a random cardboard box I had lying around the house and filled it with lots of shredded paper, bits of cardboard, and even some old shirts I had washed and put into pieces for her to dig and chew on. She just hops in and starts rearranging everything.

One of Buck’s favorite things is a stuffed paper bag. I get the regular, not bleached or anything. shove some special hay and a craisin or two and he’s busy for a while. Twist at the top so it’s not too easy and they actually have to work for it.

take a toilet paper tube and cut strait in from both ends about a inch, then flatten them all out. they will look like * astricks on each end. When I put that in my bunnies cage he attacks it. I dont know if he likes to play with it or just hates that I put something he considers “trash” in his cage. Either way it keeps in busy for a while. My bunny loves to play with bird toys though, my local big lots occasionally has hanging wooden bird toys for $2, normally $7 at petsmart. I stock up one of each kind. otherwise you can buy the wooden ones from the pet store. I find mine likes the ones with bells the best. With all toys though rabbit only like them for a short time. Once I notice he no longer cares about it, I swap it with another and just keep this one to swap back in a few weeks.

Observe Lola’s new favorite “homemade” toys: car keys. I worried at first about her teeth on the metal but there are a lot worse things she could get a hold of and she LOVES them! Such a little weirdo. Oh, and she obviously also enjoys listening to Glee while playing!  Honestly, I have found that anything new attracts her attention and have given her everything from papertowel rolls to shredded paper.  I just keep a CLOSE eye on her because she likes to eat the paper and I don’t want her to munch too much!

*This is not my bunny, the picture was taken from Google. Both of my rabbits love this.

I took toilet paper rolls and punched holes in the sides and covered the ends with cardboard circles to block them off, then filled with craisins and little hunks of bunny cookie and treats from the BB store. They only get them at treat time but having to push the rolls around and chew the tubes makes them have to work for it!

I got a cardboard egg container and filled it with hay then cut a small hole in the top of it so my little bun has to try and get the hay out. It’s not my own idea I saw it on the internet somewhere but my bunny loves it. She’s already widened the hole on top so she can get more out! (a little messy though, Belle tends to get hay everywhere).

I find that toilet roll tubes are really good too, turned in to toys or even just left as they are my bunny likes to have a quick chew!

I found wooden circles in the baby items bin at the thrift store and then strung them together like a rattle type thing and hung it from the top of their cage. Sharon hits it with her head and Ozzy ignores it lol Although Ozzy is constantly throwing EVERYTHING around his cage! And I mean everything! lol I give him a good supply of shredded papers and cardboard and he throws it around for hours lol
