A couple weeks ago, I heard a strange gnawing sound. I went to check on the buns, only to find them chewing on the leg of a table. It is finished wood, they had never touched it before. They don’t really like finished wood. It has been in the same place for at least 2 years. What gives?

Idk but Molly has started chewing on things that she never before chewed on…like my shoes!! I had to get rid of several pairs before I bought plastic containers to put them in :/ I feel like she has become MORE mischevious since her spay instead of being more mellow…

Do you have other animals that may have marked there? Maybe something splashed onto it somehow– even a tiny light scent could entice some curiosity. Or your bunny has just decided to take to something new without any obvious explanation. That happens too.

Nope, the only other animal in the house is the dog and she doesn’t have access to that room. That is bunny-only territory.

Mine do that when they are trying to tell me something I have done wrong. “Our hay is not fresh enough, fix it slave!” or “Our litter boxes are dirty, get to cleaning slave!” or “We want our treats now, slave!” … only time they chew on things they shouldn’t really.

Zeus is definitely a culprit of biting/chewing things to get my attention.  He’ll bite crown molding/the corners of walls ONLY when he wants my attention.  He looks over at me, bites it, then looks back at me to see if it worked.

Well, the table has been moved out of there. I put something else in it’s place that they can’t chew on. It’s a metal filing cabinet, one of those desk height ones.
