So – I keep reading that bunnies under 7 months are supposed to get unlimited pellets.

Lola is ~4.5 months and I have been giving her 1/4 of a cup of pellets a day (an 1/8 when we wake-up and an 1/8 at night), unlimited hay, and veggies twice a day  (probably a half a cup to 3/4 a cup a day – she has had kale, carrots, cilantro, parsley, celrey leaves, apples and bananas as a treat, etc.)

The http://rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html#babies site seems so vague.

Am I under feeding her?  She doesn’t act ravished and knows she is supposed to get fed in the morning and in the evening. She gets small treats throughout the day…..  She is acts like a normal (albeit pubescent) bun!

Edit: She probably weighs 2 pounds (soak and wet – if that).

“What do you mean the couch doesn’t belong to me!?”

I think that what you are doing is fine, as long as she does eat her hay. What hays are you feeding right now? I would try to make sure it is a mixture of at least 2, maybe 3. At her age, one can be alfalfa, and I do recommend that. Though I am a little confused by two things. First, is she getting 1/2 to 3/4 cup total every day of veggies, or once in the morning, once in the evening? She really should be getting 2 cups of greens per day minimum if she doesn’t get unlimited pellets at her age. Though you do have to be careful that her digestive system can handle the greens, so work up to larger amounts slowly. Second, when you put carrots in the middle of her greens list, do you mean carrot tops? Carrots (the orange part) really are a treat and should be fed like fruits.

She sure is a cutie! She certainly looks like she is full of attitude!

She got switched from alfalfa to timothy awhile ago – I would say almost since she was 12 weeks old. I still have some left and mix it in with her timothy as a treat.

She probably gets about a 1 and 1/4 cups of veggies a day total…and it’s usually a mixture of a few leafy greens (spinach, kale, cilantro, parsley). The carrots are used as a treat – we are actually out right now but she doesn’t seem to upset because she knows I usually eat an apple for a snack and will bolt out of her cage when she hears me bite into it!

She is definitely ornery and has a bit of a “I’m smarter than you think I am” complex.

As logn as she has plenty of hay, it sounds fine to me. You could up the veggies a bit, but she is in no way starving, even if she makes you think she is
