Today I found out that Pablo has 2 sisters!I am really excited because… I evidently have space for two more bunnies..

I am actually going to go take a look at them this weekend. Ok, ok, that’s it! I am a bunny addict!

Ever since Panda passed, I feel like, when there are bunnies in need, well, I need to help them! I have this un-needed guilty feeling. And I don’t know why! What do you guys think? Should I go take a look at them? Or just be happy with 1 bun.? I know I need to make the descision, but any suggestions help!

        Thanks,

        Bethy, and Pablo<3

          Does sound exciting

The things to think about is that there is no guarantee that they’ll bond (siblings don’t increase this chance). Also are they spayed? Do you have the time, space, and money for them?

If these things work out then I see no reason why not to  I almost wish sometimes that I had adopted one of Wilbur’s siblings.

Bunnyfriend: I actually wasn’t planning on keeping the two girls with the boy. (The two girls are a bonded pair.) No, they aren’t spayed (STINK!)….I have the time & money, yes!
I would just need to get another pen. That’s it.

So I think I’m gonna fit driving down there to take a look at them in my schedule!

Honestly, I wouldn’t. A change in environment with 2 unspayed girls could break their bond. Plus, they would both need to be spayed, which will be alot of money. You live with your parents right? At some point you’ll move out, go to college, etc… who will look after them? Most dorms don’t allow pets. Apartments are rare that allow animals as well.

I’d stick with 1 bun, and give him all your attention.

Thanks for your advice! I am going to confirm with the guy for sure if they r spayed or not. But I do agree, PAblo needs more attention! lol

Even if they are, the other questions are still valid. What will happen as time goes on? need to think of the future, bunnies can live 10+ years.

From the circumstances you mentioned previously about Pablo, I would seriously doubt that the pair of girls are spayed. If it were me, I would just give Pablo more attention. There will always be animals in need and once you are on your own and independent, then you can consider helping other animals in need.

I hope it works out either way… But I like you would go see them… I am going Friday to get our newest one… And some will disapprove and some will approve… As long as you have the money, space, time and love go for it!! I can’t wait to see pics if you get them!!

I wish I could help more buns. I do have the time I don’t have the money or the space. I wish I did. If you can then I would say go for it.

I think the thought is very noble and generous, but as I quickly found out 1 bunny was more work than I ever thought it would be! I can’t imagine having 2 or more when my schedule is already so packed! I plan on getting another one eventually but only when I know I can give them my all. If you feel that you can, and can also afford the extra costs of food each month, then I think its a great idea. But like Monkeybun said, what happens when you go off to college? You have to think of your future, and theirs too.

If the bunnies are not actually living alone with you, but rather in your family’s home, they are really the responsibility of both you and your parents, and that may mean that in just a few years your folks will have them permanently without you. That’s a big obligation for them to take on.

A bonded pair (bonded, not just 2 from the same litter who haven’t reached puberty yet) needs to stay together, and 3 is a difficult and tricky bonding relationship. The neuter question has been addressed, but I would rather see you let someone take a manageable pair of bonded bunnies together, and you go and find a mate for Pablo when the time is right. He will bond with another bunny he chooses himself, and it will still be a lot of work. His presence may upset the current bond as was mentioned. I’d resist the urge for now until you have the sense that you are going to have several years of a home for yourself and one or two speutered bunnies. He won’t be lonely if he has your attention morning and evening.

You can honor your impulse to help by researching rescues where you could volunteer.
