So I got  my boys some craisins today, and Groucho tried one, thumped his feet at me and turn and ran!  I could’ve cried a little.  Instead of crying though… I made cookies.  My mom says they look like turd droppings, and my fiance says they look like oatmeal cookies gone wrong!  They smelled really good while baking them though!

1/4 c. Papaya, mashed evenly <---- I used Banana insted because getting Papaya in Minnesota in Feburary is IMPOSSIBLE!
        1 spoonful Pineapple, mashed evenly
1/4 c. Rabbit pellets (ground in coffee grinder to a flower consistency)
        3 tsp. Old Fashion Oats

        Pellets ground up…

        Photobucket

        Mashed bananas and crushed pineapple…

        Old fashioned oats!

        Photobucket

On the cookie sheet, we were out of parchment paper so I used tin foil (NEVER AGAIN!)

        Baked!

The boys haven’t had any yet because they’re still quite a bit hot, but here’s to hoping they like their new poo looking cookies!

Ooooo those look yummy! (for a bunny I mean…)  I made cookies, but they had flour in the ingredients, and I wasn’t very keen on that. Molly really likes them tho. I’m gonna try your recipe since there is no flour! Yay!!

Forgot to add that I put a little bit of fresh mint leaf in there too for a bit of extra flavor.

Rei, if you make them, I also forgot to add that I baked them for 25 minutes.  They’re not crispy, kinda like a chewy cookie, but maybe if they’re in longer they might get a bit more crunchy.  And they bake at 350.

I think that bunnies would enjoy those cookies! I sometimes buy pumpkin cookies from Bunny Bytes, which my bunnies love, but they are sort of pricey due to the shipping costs.

This could probably be done with pumpkin instead of banana, Tobyluv. Just as long as you have some pureed like fruit for the moist base to hold it all together it should be fine.

Groucho has been devouring them! However, Zeppo keeps snubbing them, though both of them finally started eating the craisins. So Groucho can have the cookies and Zeppo can have craisins, but Zeppo has always been picky.

Aww, they sound delicious for bunnies! I’ve made my own bunny treats before too, and if you want the cookies to be crispy (which also helps them keep longer since they won’t be so moist), lower the temperature and increase the time on the baking. Unlike for human cookies, there aren’t any eggs or raw ingredients that need to be cooked before the dough can be eaten, so the baking is mainly a drying process and you don’t have to worry about underbaking.

Thanks for that tip, Peppy! I actually made more cookies yesterday, had to leave them in for nearly 3 hours to get them to crisp, even making them thinner this time too. Zeppo and Groucho both seem to love them more this way though! I’m even considering a small project since I know how long it would have to bake now. They sell edible logs for small animals at the store, but of course they’re not exactly that healthy for a bun so I may be making my own with the pellet flour and mashed bananas.

I plan on making more treats later today. Mine love berries in theirs.

Have you been tempted to taste those cookies?
                                  I’ve tasted pellets once.
They weren’t that bad, but they weren’t delicious, either.

Hahaha, no Supercheesetastic…. I have not tasted those cookies. Though the mashed up fruit before the powdered timothy pellets were added tasted pretty good. But that was only from licking off my finger when the mixer splashed some up.
