Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a while.

I took Houdini in to see the vet today. He lost about half his body weight, and he seems to be having trouble with his hind legs. He’s not limping or anything. But he’s having problems getting from level to level in his condo, and he manages to jump into his hay box, but sometimes when he jumps out he flops on to the ground. The vet wasn’t able to diagnose anything, but they are doing some blood work and should get back to me by saturday. Any ideas about what could be the problem? Oh and hes eating, and pooping normally.

My bun Smudge had some trouble with her back legs as she got older (she was 8), the vet diagnosed her with arthritis. She seemed to have some days that were worse than others but for the most part she still got around okay. It didn’t seem to affect her eating or drinking habits, I changed her house from a condo to an x-pen to make it easier on her and she had some pain meds that she took occasionally (sorry I can’t remember what they were called). I saw in your profile Houdini is only a few years old, so this might not be the case for him but I thought I’d let you know it might be something relatively common/simple. Good luck! I hope you hear some good news!

It looks as if Houdini is pretty young, so I would be surprised if it is arthritis.

It could possibly be e.cunniculi, but that is pure speculation on my part. Hopefully the bloodwork will give your vet some clues.

Vibes to Houdini, please let us know what he vets says.

I hope that the antibiotics will clear up the infection soon.
