I think organic soil may be a gimic-though i’m not sure-I know that the fda certifies food as organic but I don’t think soil could be certified organic. I’d go with just a plain potting soil.

For herbs: mint, parsley and basil
Also bunnies love roses, marigolds and nasturtium -which might be a nice addition
Veggies-I’d grow carrots and lettuce since they are easy but you could also do strawberries, raspberries and even the plants of those are good to give your bunny

Kokanee: Thankyou!! I wonder tho, if the rose thorns would hurt the bunny?

                CILANTRO?

Wheat grass/cat grass? Maybe that should be planted indoor. Some other animals might go after the wheat grass, lol!

Dandelions! Super easy to grow and buns love the greens.

“While one might not necessarily think of soil as “inorganic” in the sense of “unnatural,” many commercial soils include high levels of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. Soil is usually designed to encourage rapid, healthy plant growth while discouraging insects, fungi, and weeds, and commercial soil accomplishes this at any cost. Organic soil, by contrast, does not contain chemical ingredients, providing a rich substrate for plants to grow and using natural means in an attempt to control pests.

Instead of using chemical fertilizers, organic soil is amended with compost from organic sources, and manure from organically-fed animals. It may also be amended with things like mycelium, which helps the soil retain water and nutrients, along with organic mulch to aerate the soil and make it looser. Just like standard commercial soil, organic soil can be formulated for specific environments and uses, with varying pH balances and levels of nutrients. Good organic soil is extremely dark, moist, and fragrant.”

                      (From an article on soils)

As for what to grow – parsley, mint, basil, cilantro, romaine, carrots, dandelions, kale, etc. Whatever fits best in your area / for the season you plan to plant.

I was going to comment on organic soil, but Sticker beat me to it! Generally, I would try to use organic soil for anything I was going to eat or feed my bunny. I buy regular potting soil for flowers and things that I don’t eat. It probably doesn’t make a huge difference, but I figure if I’m growing things myself I should get rid of as many chemicals as possible. Starting your own compost pile is a great way to create your own organic soil.

I would suggest different types of lettuce – it grows well in colder weather so you can start it early in the season and grow it well into the fall (though it often doesn’t do well in the hottest part of summer unless you shield it from the bright sun). Another good cool weather veggie is kale.

For herbs, parsley, basil, mint, and cilantro are all easy to grow and well loved by bunnies.

I grew chicory one year and it was the best growing thing in my garden.

I can’t wait to start my garden either. I have to dig a new garden this year so it will be a lot of work. Our garden last year kept getting flooded because of the way our lawn slopes so nothing grew.
