  Hey everyone! I was looking at photos of some people’s cages on here and while I thought I was really clever turning a rubbermaid container into a bunny house, it seems that many other people did the same. lol
  
  I also thought I was clever making a bunny cage out of a puppy playpen…you guys call them xpens. But nope. lol
  
  I was hoping we could share some cheap cage accessory ideas…possibly some DIY crafty things. I’m sure there are many, many things I haven’t thought of that some of you guys have!!

  Well #1 is that Panda always loved BIG cardboard boxes. Cut a few (large enough for your bun to get thru) holes in places.
  Maybe put a blanket and some toys inside!
  Another thing is a bird buddy toy. They are little hanging toys with edible/ rabbit safe colorful wood that you can hang around. Panda also loved them

  My husband built a “sideways E” wood xpen shelf… my bunnies LOVE it.

  Yup, I like it. I drew up my plans and he made it better than I could have imagined. It combines a hidey house with a lounge area (the BB pet bed fits perfectly in there) and a ledge for jumping.

  I sent the “sideways E” plans to my uncle, who loves building things, and he is going to make one for my bunnies this weekend!! I’m so excited for them to have it once they move into their cage together in a few weeks.
