So i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this wtih there bunny.  Since I had Blossom she gets this eye crust around one eye.  It is real small amount like as big as a crumb and it looks like toast crumbs!!  Same color.  so i do clean it once a week but I have to pick at it to get it off and then I notice the place where I picked it off its real red.  do you think its an infection or red becasue I irritated it by picking off.  I try to rub it off but believe me its easier to pick because its quick and fast before she freaks!!  She does have  vet appoitnment next week to discuss spaying so i will show her it.  by the way no goop or sticky stuff just hard crust.  Thanks everyone  Mindy

It reminds me of when they get sleep in their eye and I have to clean buds every once in awhile since he’s been a single bun….Bonded pairs usually clean eachothers….but with it being red..I don’t know..It could be that you picked it…but I wouldn’t think it would cause that much irritation. I would def. ask the vet..just to be sure.

Yeah, Hodari has a tiny amount of crust in her eyes every day or two, and I just gently pick it out. Occasionally it’s a little red afterwards, but the redness goes away quickly. Do ask the vet, though, if you are worried.

I don’t think you should pick at it. Just ask the vet.

Stormy, my Mini-Rex, gets these little eye crusts every day. I clean them when I groom him. If they are stuck on, I wet a Q-tip to help loosen it.

Sounds normal, but since you’ll be at the vet anyway it can’t hurt to let the vet take a quick look at the eye. I always wipe off Porky’s eyes after a few minutes of petting his head.

One of my 2 week old Mini Rex bunny had eye crust to
i just wiped it off every time i sall it ,and in a week it was all gone
and yes the bunnies eye was red and looked sore, so it something you can just do, you don’t need to run to the vet, maybe you can call your vet and he will give you tips, but it’s something you don’t not need to freak out

                      Thanks for reading
