So, I brought Marble Cake (my french lop) to get spayed on Wednesday and I’m suppose to head over there tonight to pick her up.  …ooo I’m nervous.  The vet called this morning to say that her suture had undone and they will be putting her under again to redo them today.  But she should be good to go tonight.  I asked them how she was and the vet said that she very nervous.  Which is making me nervous.  I’m scared she’ll come back different.    And she wont’ like me anymore… And that she’ll be an angry bunny.  What do you guys think ?  What have you experienced with female bun’s after surgery in their behaviour?  did they change?  Will she remember me?

It’s been a long time since I’ve done any spays or neuters but I don’t remember my rabbits ever hating me afterwards…I don’t think rabbits can be angry like humans – they may have some hormonal frustrating behavior but that will eventually go away.

Will she remember you after a few days? I would imagine she would.

I would say when you bring her home, don’t fuss over her and just let her relax…she’s been through alot and fussing over her will probably annoy her.

Of course she’ll remember you. She may be a bit anti social due to being in pain though. And her hormones may spike, causing some odd behavior over the next month. Just give her space, plenty of fresh greens and other foods she likes and let her heal.
