Just wondering how long I should wait after Zeus’s neuter to introduce him to West.  They visit through the bars often, and no issues. .

He was neutered 2 weeks ago this Friday.  I was thinking of trying to introduce them either this weekend or next weekend.  But I’m really in no hurry or anything.  What do you guys think?

Well since West is spayed, you should be able to start introducing them now since there is no chance of unintended pregnancies :~)

Just make sure Zeus is totally healed. If they get in a fight, you don’t want him to damage his incision. But, since he is a boy, they do recover faster then girls so he could be fine now.

Yeah I’m not worried about that, but I want to minimize the chance of him having any hormones left and trying to mate with her, and make sure he’s all healed up, like mocha said.  Is 2 weeks long enough to heal up and let the hormones diminish?

The mating only being a concern because I’m sure West would not appreciate a bun over twice her size trying to do that.

                  It should be.

Humping is also a dominance thing and you might be surprised to see West try to hump Zeus – that would be funny LOL.

She’d need a little ladder to do it! .

I actually think she’s going to be the “boss”, hilariously enough.  Sometimes she’ll try and give him a little nip, if he comes over while she’s shredding a magazine or something.  Then she’ll drag the magazine away, and give him a glare.  “MY magazine, you can’t have it!”.  Then Zeus hops away, all dejected.

I wouldn’t be too worried. We started the bonding process around that time after our little boy had been neutered. The first he was like “hump hump hump,” but that behavior disappeared within a day or two.

They were honestly bonded in like 4 days. Never had a single fight (probably mostly because Bunny was so chill). I got off so easy. I always think Zeus sounds so much like Bunny, so maybe it’ll be easy for you too. Good luck!

(the mental image of West with either a ladder or a high pair of heels on to reach Zeus is rather amusing)

No-humpy-good-quick-bonding vibes for Zeus and West coming your way!

Your profile still says West is male.
