        Do rabbits get winter fat?

I”ve noticed that Chacha bun is a little chubbier than normal. She has been eating orchard, timothy, and oat hay. I’ve lowered her pellet intake to 1 teaspoon. She only gets a raisin or papaya candy treat every other day.

She has lived in an apartment for a year. She used to be more active when we lived in a house. Now, she just likes to nap. She gets mad and chews on my door and wants to get in

I have noticed that too!! Tipsy has gained a little pudge since this winter. I have been trying to take her out more often to get a little exercise, seems to help in waking her up, but we get home and she zonks out.

Mine look really chubby this winter but I think it’s all fur.

Mine both have gotten fluffier, maybe a little more pudgy. Yesterday I was just thinking I should lower their pellets, but it can be hard to tell.

I think they exercise less when they get older, so where you live may be a factor if they don’t enjoy running around as much. They just don’t go as crazy as they did in the first year.
I was concerned when I moved here that Sammy wouldn’t like it, but she actually zooms more on this carpet than in my last apartment, so she’s stayed leaner.
But I’m staying elsewhere temporarily next month, and there’s tile (she hates floors) so I think she may not get as much exercise there. She doesn’t climb for exercise so I’m a bit worried.
If Chacha likes to climb, give her levels to play on as well.

Ooh yes, Chacha is the Queen of jumping onto things! I even have a little condo that sits next to my bed, so she can jump and bother the slave

The living room at the old house was definitely much bigger than. I went from 2200 sq ft to 1000 sq ft -____-

                  Thanks guys!

Somthing that may help her become more active is to change her set up. You can take away her cottontail cottage for aweek or two then when you give it back its like a whole knew toy. You could also try rebuilding some of the NIC towers you have to make the different and more fun.

I’m telling Chacha you think she’s fat.
