I’ve noticed a few things about Zeus since he got neutered.  He doesn’t dig hardly at all anymore, he’s not shredding as much (he used to LOVE tearing through magazines, now it’s just a fleeting fancy ), and he doesn’t completely rearrange his cage every night.  He also doesn’t make his little “wff, wff, wff, wff” sounds as often.

I thought it took awhile for a neuter to “kick in”, behavior-wise?  He wasn’t a bad bunny intact, no spraying or being destructive or anything.  I’ve just noticed his behavior is just a little different now. .  Can a bun’s behavior change so quickly after a neuter?  It’s only been a week. .

(In either case, I’m not introducing him to West for at least another few weeks.  So no worries about that.)

Uh oh!  Maybe I’m doing to have Dr. Zeuskyll and Mr. Zyde (Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde).

Hmmm Im trying to think back to when bud was snipped and i cant remember too much other than being a nervous wreck. He started spraying before the neuter (most likely cause there was a fertile female in the house) and I’m pretty sure that stopped soon after. He;ll still rearange his house and dig if hes upset but i dont remember how soon he calmed down….
Sorry I cant be of more help…

But he’ll probably calm down a little more as it can take up to a month for all the hormones to leave his body…

Haha! Maybe. I just remember thinking Wooly was fine abd then all of a sudden he was super hyper and destructive. He was ripping up stuff he had never even given a second glance before.

Squirrel was a mellow man the entire time. So I guess the level of psychoness does vary between buns

Ok, if I go home today and Zeus has his cage totally destroyed, and is going crazy bouncing off the walls of his cage, I’m blaming you guys!

Otto was mellow before neuter and eventually mellow after, but boy was he a nutcase for the week after. I was trying to keep him quiet (usually an extremely easy thing to do) and he was jumping and running all over the place like a crazy boy. After a week he was back to his lazy mellow self.

I guess it’s an individual thing!
