I’m so happy that my 2 buns are finally bonded…but now they don’t even leave their room! They have free run of the house and hershey used to always be desperate to run around the house when we had the pen up, now that we’ve removed the pen and they can go anywhere they want…they don’t  want to.  i”m used to hershey watching tv with me or sitting near my feet at the desk…but she just lies around her house nowadays (see pic).

does anyone know if they eventually come out of the ‘honeymoon’ period?

Mine definitely took a couple months where they ignored us and hung out in their cage, but they got past that and are now friendlier than ever. I’d make an effort to invite them out for treats and interaction to remind them that hanging out with people is fun.

Congrats on bonding your bunnies! Initially my bunnies were like yours when they were newly bonded. They did everything together and rather lounge around in their bunny room. Usually Lupe will hang out with me on the couch watching TV, or exploring the house, but it almost stopped after she is bonded with Buffy, the new bunny, and rather spend time with her. But after a short while, Lupe continued to do her usual stuff, exploring the house and sit on the couch with me. But Buffy is kinda the laid back type and rather spend time lounging under furniture or alone in the bunny room. So I think it depends on your bunnies’ personality and habits on how things are gonna turn out.

              Aw, they’re so cute together!

My two for a bit ignored me and a lot of the time they still will, but Powder will come out and take pets and lounge around in the living room with me when I let him. He’s never gotten back to his _normal_ affectionate behavior when he was solo, he used to jump on the bed and lay at my feet and always want pets and now he’s happy to just lay around with Stickers, but if he’s happy I am happy.
