        HELP

I’m scared he or the female will end up getting hurt. He is for sure nueterd. I wish he would stop. Plus I have baby buns in the house and i don’t want to ever risk them getting hurt!! Its not a dominence hump, he makes a very quite mating sound. I don’t know what the problem is here, i’ve never seen it.

He most likely wouldn’t hurt them. If anything, someone might get pissed at him and bite him. I wouldn’t dismiss it as not being a dominance thing just yet. Just because he’s making noises doesn’t mean he has reproduction on the brain.

Have you had your rabbits checked out by a rabbit savvy vet? It does not sound like you know 100% that your boy is neutered.

I second ChaCha. If you took him in to get neutered, then has it been a month? Boy buns can mate up to a month after a neuter, and it can take as long to get rid of the hormones.

I Definentliy know he was nueterd. I payed for it !!! He was nueterd at 6 months, so I’m pretty sure he is going through a boy stage. I forgot to think about that.. Plus he was nueterd by a exotic pet vet which was well over 200$ O.o I will just seperate him for a few weeks, by putting him in a xpen right next to them, and letting them out together in playtime, but not sleep in the same cage.

Be careful not to let the babies stay together too long. They can impregnate each other well before you see any signs of their sexual maturity. Get ready with separate places for each of them.

I had a similar issue with Powder after his neuter. He would hump Stickers for up to 20m straight, until she was CRYING in the most pitiful noise I have ever heard from a rabbit. I ended up having to gently push him off her when he did it too long and use a squirt bottle when they were too far away. After about a week of that, he stopped doing it. You have to let _some_ humping happen as a dominance thing, but excessive is stressful on the girl. If she’s not spayed, the smell of her hormones may still be giving him ideas. And yes, babies can breed quite young, so be sure to separate them (I believe there are some cases of as young as 12 weeks being viable for boys?)
