Recently I have been letting Austa Nanie and Arla play in my room. They act as if I am a monster when I try to pet them them run when I try to pet them they will jump out of my lap and do a foot flick when I give them a treat they will snach it out of my hand and hide behind a box! I really do not know what to do I have tried everything petting them holding them giving them treats sitting down on the floor with them nothing works!!!!! All my other buns love me Bubbles follows me everywere! But Austa Nanie and Arla (who are bonded) they really do not like me.

Sit in the floor and ignore them. Completely. Don’t even look at them. They will get curious eventually and come explore, just let them. Then you can start putting a treat in your hand and letting them take it on their own time, etc. Some buns you have to use reverse psychology on

You need to take time to bond with them. Also know all bunnies are different, they have their own personalities just like us. They probably don’t like having to sit in your lap, if they come up to you for a treat, pet their nose them where they are and then give the treat.

They may be more of the type that will accept admiration from a distance than snuggles up close. Not all bunnies are snuggle loving. My Monkey HATES being touched, for example. Doesn’t mean they hate you, they just don’t want to be petted and snuggled and held.

I agree with MB. My rabbits like me just fine but they aren’t snugglers. I’d love to snuggle Bobby, but he doesn’t like it and I have just accepted this makes him happy to just be petted every once in awhile when I catch him off guard.

Ok Stickerbunny so I did what you said and ignored them and Arla actually came up to me so I decided to try petting her and she let me! I was so excited but even better she licked me the last time she licked me she was about 4 months old! Then Austa Nanie came up as well he let me pet him and then hopped away I am so excited thank you so much!

You’re doing a great job! Just let them come to you. Right now they see the petting and holding as too much touching too soon. Gain their trust over time by sitting quietly and letting them check you out, then offer a treat every once in a while to keep them interested in you. Some rabbits take a very long time to gain trust with and you just have to move at their pace.
