So I know it is 2 cups min, but on the other hand, for a smaller bun (or any bun really), how much is too much as far as greens go? Does it make a difference if you have more variety. That is, say you have 4-5 cups of greens for a 3lb bun, but it has 5-8 different greens vs only 3-4, does that make it okay? I think I gave Nova a bit too much tonight… lol. And you know what? Even with this glorious pile of greens, she just took the carrot off the top and then went to eat her pellets.

As long as you’re giving a variety and she’s eating hay and not getting poopy bottom from too much liquid in her diet… I don’t see a problem. Mine sometimes get two salads cause they want more.

I have a dwarf, and it said minimum 2 cups? I think she gets about 3-4 cups a day.. sometimes even more. Baby doesn’t seem to mind

I think Nova and Chacha are about the same size. Once I get my camera we can hold up a dollar bill next to them to see. Nova might be a bit bigger though.

Of the picture I posted, she ate about 90% of it in 24 hours. Normally I feed her at about 6PM and it is all gone by the morning. So this was obviously more than she wanted to eat in one day. I will keep it to 2-3 cups and not exceed that so I don’t waste food! Plus if she gets too much she is more likely to just pick out what tastes best instead of getting all her veggies (in this case she left all the mustard greens). She likes hay, I want to get her on 3-4 different types of hay, and she free feeds on that all day. I figure that is what she consumes the most of anyways.

Hehehehe LoveChaCha…I feed Hazel 2 SALADS A DAY! She is a little piggy too. So spoiled. She gets about 4 cups a day, and she loves it.
KytKattin- I figure giving my bun her greens in the evening gives her something to do during the night…hopefully instead of being sneaky. I need a hidden camera to see what she’s doing since she’s free range! Looks like your bun has a fantastic salad; keep up the spoiling! =)

Chacha is a 4 pound dwarf. She is what breeders call a ‘big fat dwarf’ as they are bigger than normal size dwarfs, have longer ears, etc. Chacha thumps at those generalizations tho.. haha.

She isn’t chubby. She has a tiny dewlap. I’ve been cutting her pellets to less than a tablespoon a day. She gets 5 types of veggies a night now

You know, Nova had a dewlap after she gave birth, but it disappeared, and even though she is chubby it hasn’t come back! I think it is just a biological thing. The dwarf I had growing up had a dewlap despite being at a good weight. Maybe it is because Nova is Polish…

Nova does eat her veggies all night, especially after she eats all the other “good stuff”.

In that salad there was mustard greens, cilantro, red lettuce, romaine, turnip greens, and a baby carrot on top!
