         Hey guys, I know I haven’t been around in a while. School has been kicking my butt. Spooky and I are well though.

        BUT, Spooky started limping a little yesterday, so I picked him up to feel his feet and look around and I noticed he has a redish colored round bump on his heel. I assumed it was sore hocks, after I google and did some research. I got som Desitin to put on there until I can get him into see the vet on Monday or Tuesday hopefully.

        Is there anything else I should do? Am I doing anything wrong?

        He seems to be eating, peeing and pooping normally. Just not wanting to hop around as much or use his right back foot.

          What is he living on? Carpet? Tile? Wire?

            Carpet mostly. He has free run of most of the house, which is all carpet. His cage is linoleum, but he mostly lays in his litterbox when he in there.

              Limping is weird even on really SORE hocks as far as I know-he could have hurt himself maybe jumping higher or down from something too high? Carpet can be hard on them, but I’d think as long as he has something padded to rest on that should be totally fine.

                I don’t know if its really limping. Its more of him not wanting his heel to touch the ground I think. But I’m still going to the vet next week.

                Also, since I put the Desitin on, he is using his foot more now.

                He likes to rest in his litterboxes, ha ha. I can try getting a little bed for him though. He used to use a bed but then just stopped so I got rid of it.

                  It’s a good idea to see the vet. If it’s true sore hocks then he will have a bit of an infection that will need antibiotics.

                    Does he have a multi teired house, like a condo? If so, he could fall and injure himself if ramps are too narrow! I would rake him to the vet and see what they say. Hope the little guy feels better soon {{{{{VIBES}}}}}

                      We are headed to the vet in a few hours. I can tell that he isn’t fully himself. I think he is in a little pain because he isn’t eating quite as much as he usually does. And he isn’t doing binkies.

                      I will let you guys know what’s up.

                      Oh, he does have a two milk crates stacked on top of each other in his cage so he may have jumped down from the second one and landed wrong. But he always is jumping out of it and hasn’t seemed to hurt himself before.

                          Spookster has two either fractured or dislocated toes. I could have paid for an X-ray to figure it out but the Doc said he thought the best treatment would be to just give him an anti inflammatory and put him on “one level rest.” Which means no jumping for a few weeks, and I have to block off half of the room so he won’t run around as much. Wrapping his toes would have been a nightmare because he would have just kept chewing it off, ha ha. So we decided on just rest and some medicine.

                          He said his hocks looked fine, and they were nothing to worry about. He figured Spooky may have gotten his nails stuck in the carpet when he tried to jump somewhere. He said his nails were a little long, so I need to be better about cutting them!

                            I’m glad its nothing too serious, hopefully his toes will heal up quick!

                                He is feeling better! He is a little sleepy looking from the Metacam, but he is using his foot a little more. I’ve been trying so hard to keep him from running around. He has a little play pen I set up for him that he can go in, but I have also been making him just stay in his cage more. I got him a little cat bed and he loveeees to lay in it. And lick it for some reason.

                                Here he is:
