Up until recently Pancakes has been using her litter box perfectly.

However I today she is barely using it at all for pellets (instead leaving a nice big pile NEXT to her box) and she has also wee’d on the sofa for the first time in weeks.

She is about 5 1/2 months old and not yet nutered (I have had her about a month, and wanted to give her time to settle in and get to know and trust me before I cart her off to the vets for a nasty operation)

I wondered if she has come into season, but she is showing no signs of agression, other than being a big haughty, which she is sometimes anyway – typical bun!

        Any help greatly appreciated.

Rabbits don’t have a “season” – they are always ready to breed. But she is reaching the age of sexual maturity, so her hormones are probably kicking into over drive and causing her to lose her litter habits. Spaying soon should fix it (though it can take up to a month for hormones to settle down).

Yep, it’s time. I would say get an appointment asap with your vet and book her for a spay as soon as the vet will do it.
She is showing all the signs of a teenager, and that’s when she needs to be spayed. It won’t hurt your bond, in fact, the sooner you get it over with, the better she will bond with you.

She’s definitely the age the female rabbits have hormones playing up. Being Christmas, I also wonder if perhaps she’s reacting to people being in the house or you being away at all?
