Oxbow Botanical hay is Timothy hay, with a few flowers and herbs mixed in, so if your mother is allergic to Timothy, that won’t work. Although certain brands may be less liable to cause allergies. If she is having a problem with the hay, you might want to switch to another brand of Timothy and see if that bothers her too. Hay can be variable between brands and within brands, due to the cutting of the hay, how old or dusty it might be, etc. Orchard grass is a good hay and a lot less likely to cause allergies.

Bermuda grass, brome, meadow, orchard, timothy, marsh, oat, and just about any other grass hay would be good!

Oat is coarse and not very dusty, orchard is fine and while there is some dust involved, it’s generally well tolerated and buns love it. I’m not allergic to any hay, but boyfriend has issues with timothy and he doesn’t seem to mind the orchard much. Which is fine, cause my buns prefer it.
