Is there any way you can bring your rabbit inside? They really are great indoor pets.

Do you have a second cage for the new rabbit?

Taking care of a neutered rabbit is ( usually ) easy, its spays that are harder. I took my boy home an hr after his neuter and gave him some of my kale smoothie ( kale, apples, pears ) because he didn’t want to eat at first but then he ate a bowl of veggies. The vet gave me a 3-day supply of metcam ( pain meds ) to give once a day and he ate it like a treat.

You have to keep their pen/cage and litter box clean so they don’t get an infection, mine was ready/demanding to be let out of his cage later that night but I limited his time out to 30 minutes morning/night for a couple days and made sure he didn’t jump on anything.

Limit jumping, so remove anything he can jump up on (platforms, etc) for about a week. Keep the are super clean, clean it all out with vinegar before you bring him home. Would your parents let you bring him inside just for a day or two after the surgery? Both of mine needed hands on attention day and night just to get them to eat for the first two days and Powder (my male) needed coaxing to get him to drink. You could keep him in a carrier or dog crate and he wouldn’t disturb anything in the house, he will be lethargic anyway.

Be sure to buy favorite treats since they don’t tend to have much of an appetite after surgery, but you want to coax them into eating. And keep an eye out for signs of infection (redness, swelling, pus, etc)

And yes, don’t get another bun unless you have a second cage – can’t put two strangers into one cage and expect them to get along.

Hutches aren’t really ideal, the wire floors aren’t good for their feet. Are they in a barn or something or just plain outside?

Oh and OT, but I looked at your website, and it has a list of fruit and then says all fruit listed doesn’t have sugar?? I’m not sure what you mean by that, but all fruit has fructose, which is sugar. And all fruit should be fed very limited, as a treat, as too many sugars can give them issues.

You should bring your bunny in for a couple of days to see if your parents are okay wif it, also mice might carry disease to your rabbit if the cage isn’t secure enough so you should lock up
