Panda has been doing something strange, I am not worried, I just want to know what it means. Ok, Panda will lick his anul territorry then start to chew something. This may be the stuff I cannot find to clean because, he cleans it! Has this happened to you? Couldd it be something else? COMMENT

Probably he’s eating his cecals, which they do and you hardly ever actually see one

Bunnies drop these pills that are softer then actually poos. They are full of nutritional stuff that they need. He may be just eating one of these pills (someone could probably properly name them, because I forgot what they are called) so I think that maybe what he is doing.

They’re called cecals, and yes, that’s what he’s eating. They smell at first, but you often don’t see or smell them because a bunny will eat them almost immediately.

They are a way a bunny processes nutrients from food to recycle and eat later. I understand it’s because in the winters, when food is scarce, it helps a bunny survive. Mother Nature can be really cool, if you don’t get too grossed out.

Another reason for the cecals is that is how they get sufficient vitamin B12 in their diet, since B12 doesn’t come in very large quantities from veggies and grass, but their cecals have what they need. Another cool natural way of handling a deficiency in diet.

lol, My family think it is so gross that they eat their poop, I try to explain it to them, but they would rather just make fun of them for it. “shakes head”
