My rabbit’s chin looks wet sometimes but its usually dry ( unless he just did something to get it wet ). The vet says nothing is wrong with his teeth ( he does have allergies but they aren’t bad ). He likes to chew on the gates and gets slobber on his face sometimes but that is the only time I notice it, and he likes to chin his wet vegetables and water in the bowl.

Does this happen to anyone elses rabbit??????? It makes me paranoid something is wrong with his teeth and I’m always checking them but they look fine.

If he has problems with his molars, you wouldn’t be able to see. The only way to tell is with a vet’s otoscope.

Bindi, my lop, gets a really wet chin after he drinks.

Stupid question but have you noticed if he ate his salad or drank somewhat prior to that? Both of my buns have had a wet chin and I freaked out then I realized one just ate her (wet) salad and the other drank water.

All the times I notice it is after he’s been chewing on the gate or a little while after he eats……so maybe it is just that. I just looked today when I got home and its dry right now.

Usually bunnies are good about that but if it’s right after he eats than maybe that’s the cause. If it keeps up and/or his eating habits change I would definitely make an appointment with the vet. I hope it’s just him being messy nomming on food

Since the vet already said his teeth are fine, I wouldn’t worry. It may be that, because he has allergies, he is mouth breathing. If he’s been chewing on the gate then he’s breathing and chewing at the same time which may make him drool a bit.
