My romaine is  slimyish and dark after only 1 day!! is it ok to give to Panda still? It isnt really SLIMY but flimsy & unappetising. I did not feed that today. Instead I fed cilantro, celery, and baby spinach, but I dont see why it is nasty already..

No idea why it’s “nasty” already, but if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t give it to your bunny.  Common sense.

If you wouldn’t eat it you don’t feed it to your rabbit.

If it gets wet it will do that, or if it gets too cold and freezes a bit.

If humans eat it then yes!

I was just going to say something about it freezing a bit in the fridge, but Stickerbunny beat me to it. If that’s what’s happening, making your fridge slightly warmer should help, or storing it in a different part of the fridge (some areas are colder than others)

The wilted romaine can be returned to your store for a refund or fresh replacement or more of the other greens she likes.

Once it freezes, it’s not really edible… it’s not dangerous, but it’s pretty gross. After a day or so it’ll get brown and very slimy from thawing and being way too wet and then it starts to grow bacteria and is beyond safe eating. I would personally just feed other things and next time store the romaine in a different part or turn the temp down on your fridge. Mine froze a few times because my boyfriend insists on turning the temp to COLDEST and if it’s above 4 (4, 5, coldest) it freezes any veggies and will even ice over a gallon of tea! *frown*

Edit: If you don’t want to waste it, while it’s still just in that “wet thawed out” phase you can add it to a soup or something for some extra greens.

Most stores will give you an exchange for lettuce. This grocery cashier knows, haha

Eek, yes. I think a good rule to go by for a lot of things (veggie conditions, cold temperature) is if it’s not okay for a human, probably not okay for a rabbit.
