My mom knows a place I can get a large baby pen for free(for my bun). Is it safe? I will get to look at it tonight. But if you have any ideas of things dangerous about it plz share! THNX!!

Since its free, pick it up and maybe either find it online or post photos of it? The only real issues I can think if is 1, if its plastic, your bunny might chew right through it, and 2, it might not be high enough. But for free it might be worth a supervised trial

The 3rd risk is the holes between bars, netting or openings it uses. A baby gate is often used to block a doorway from one room to another, and therefore is usually safe. A bunny may be able to push his head through and opening with difficulty and get hurt going in or coming out, so that’s the 3rd problem.

I used a baby gate to keep Spockie from going into my folk’s living room from their kitchen. So he taught himself to push it aside and squeeze out anyway. Worth taking for free, but not as a permanently reliable habitat structure. I still have that baby gate at folks’ house for when Sammy visits.

A lot of baby pens have cloth or mesh, so I would watch out for that because your bunny could chew right through and eat some which would not be good.
