         Hi, All,

MM asked me to post a new thread for her here. She’s, well, I’ll let you read a quote:

“My PC finally collapsed completely and I can’t post new threads to BB . com from my phone.

Mimzy hasn’t eaten his hay without urging for the last two nights. I’m taking him in tomorrow morning to see our favorite vet. He’s at least nibbling pellets or munching lettuce, so I’m trying not to panic, but I’m really worried and would like to start a vibes thread for him. Could I ask you to post this in the Q & A thread for me? That way I can add on to it from my phone, I just can’t begin the thread. I’d be most grateful.

Hope all is well with you and Sammy. Take care and give Herself a snuggle from all of us here.”

Thank you, Pam. Lol…it’s like getting into a secret vault here…gotta know the password. Oh wait…yeah I do need a password…lol.
The worst thing about this is these extreme symptoms. Never seen him turn hay down flat before. Since he gets daily metacam, he may have been having tooth trouble for awhile (or other pain) and I just haven’t seen his distress. Hoping it’s just a dental thing and we’ll get him sorted quickly.
Stuff is still going in and coming out, sorta, so I don’t think it’s a blockage. But we’ll check the whole enchilada at any rate.
Thank you all for your prayers and vibes. He’s looking pretty rough at tines, so we’re might grateful for whatever you can send us.

Does anyone know how long to keep mixed critical care around after an attempt at feeding?
Not having much luck getting that in, despite mixing it with tummy tea (which he loves) and rather dilute.
He’s eaten nothing but lettuce and willow leaves and twigs, plus a few pellets…but still no hay and certainly not the volume I know he can put away. And Pip is downright weird since yesterday. Thumps furiously for a good while after I put Mimz to bed last night and today only sits in her litterbox (never does that) or opposite wherever Mimzy is in his habitat. Creepy.

Mimz is being what the Brits call, “a right stropbox” at the moment…tearing up paper towels….at least he’s still peeing, (and giving some rabbitude, but then he tires quickly) but I haven’t seen poo since 2 PM.
Going to be an all-nighter for me. 9AM appointment tomorrow…no point in sleeping!

The bag says 24 hours and that’s what I’ve done before.

I think you would do better to get some rest because there isn’t anything you can do if you aren’t rested.

I might try to grab a few hours. Got a little more CC into him, but boy he hates it!
So I can just take what he’s not eaten and pop it in the fridge, right? The open packet is in a ziploc in the freezer (unmixed). It’s my last one.
Thanks Sarita. And thanks to everyone for the vibes. Leave it to a bunny to become ill right before the weekend! @_@

((((((Get Well Mimzy)))))) and stop worrying you’re Momma. She loves you so much and it’s very stressful for her!!!

**Hugs** I hate having an unwell bunny. It’s so terribly stressful and if you’re anything like me (and you are!) you can’t sleep and can’t think of anything else. Very tiring physically and emotionally.

Hope he is all better soon and that you all can have a lovely weekend together.

And I hope Santa will bring you a new pc!

God has smiled on us, yes it seems to be his teeth. Vet actually had a spot open TODAY! (sound of Hallelujiah chorus inserted here) so at 2 PM he’ll go under for that and have nails trimmed…plus we’re going to do bloodwork and ultrasound that mass in his chest that we were worried might be a thymoma over summer.
She also wants to be sure he doesn’t have an abscess on his right side…his eye on that side seems off. The pupil points up where the left points straight out.
Thanks so much for all the prayers and vibes. Please keep them coming, you know I won’t reslax till he’s home and eating again.

                                                      We’re home and settled in.
First thing he did upon getting into his night hab (I call it his ‘man cave’ because he really hates to leave it) was pop to the loo and start munching the orchard grass I’d put in there. He’s also had some lettuce and carrots, plus a little metacam. His cecals are a bit squidgy, so he doesn’t want to eat them, but I’ve already seen a few poops. The eating of course is huge! He wasn’t even interested in hay this morning and the last few days.
His bloodwork is good, we did see some borderline high calcium, and a few skewed protein levels, (ALP was low and albumin was on the high end I think…not sure…it was confusing) but she attributed that to how he’s been so inappetant.
They did ultrasound his chest. It’s hard to see properly, even with a cardiologist trying to navigate the images, but the overall conclusion is there is something odd in his chest, but they aspirated from it as best they could and it doesn’t appear to be anything ominous at this time. They think it’s some part of the septum? That’s a nose thing in people, but it also applies to some tissue in the rabbit chest. Either way they didn’t see anything overly odd, so we’ll just keep an eye on it. With his degenerative bone disease, it’s probably a piece if bone or cartilage that’s deteriorating…which might account for his odd breathing.
No abscess in his mouth. Jusy very wonky teeth. I expect by tomorrow ge’ll be feeling worlds better. Thanks again for all the vibes.
                                                      NOW I CAN SLEEP! Lolz…….
