That kind of sounds like exercising or playing to me.

Next time he does it listen carefully. See if you hear a dog barking, a bird, a motor, people outside, (the grass growing….they are so skittish!). Bunnies have hearing 10x better than ours and usually it’s a reaction to something. Or Sarita’s right, and he’s just playing like a bunny spaz, which is quite normal.

Does he have somewhere to hide? It sounds like he’s running around scared and ending up in a corner – maybe if he had a box to go into he wouldn’t be as frantic.

Try a box, sometimes bunnies don’t do tunnels, but like a box

I have a box in my living room he does run to it for shelter but he does not stop running when he goes into the box he will push the box around. Do you really think he might just be wanting to play maybe I should video tape him doing it and post it on here.

Take a video, would be easier to tell if it’s him playing or being a scaredy bun

Mine did the same freaking out at my fiances parents house this weekend, every night I had to lay next to his pen so he could see me or he would run around knocking stuff over and thumping his foot like crazy with his ears back, but they have coyotes that wander their yard at night so I think he could hear/smell them which is why he was so scared.

Leaving a light on also helps my bunny, I don’t know why but he freaks out most often when its completely dark.

Our one boy bunny, Thumper can get very skittish. If a cat walks by on the porch (they are all inside and safe) he immediately goes into alert mode and starts thumping to let the girls know. In fact he is the reason we have to have a night light in the living room. He can’t stand it being pitch dark.

Wouldn’t he be less scared since he is with Arla she is always with him in the pen?

You have to remember, bunnies are mainly flight animals. They scare easily and react instinctively to danger. This is their protection in the wild. When danger approaches, they know to alert and run. I can be right their with Thumper petting him when he is scared and he will still be ears forward and pounding his feet until the danger has left the area.

Ok thanks so much Starfuzz I will maybe put a night light or something so he does not get scared anymore. c=
