So Blossom is very skinny.  When i pat her I can feel her ribs.  I give her unlimited pellets and alpha hay and timmothy hay.  She really doesnt like the alpha hay.  But I mix it in with the timmothy hay so she gets some.  Any ideas on how to fatten her up.

She’s young so this is pretty normal. I would just feed her as usual, you don’t need to fatten her up.

Sounds like she has a good diet, I don’t see a need to fatten her up either unless your vet says there is a concern. I can feel Powders ribs (though not a lot anymore) and he’s four years old, but he’s just a slim muscular bun and the vet says he’s in fine health.

my bunny is young (6-8 months), and when I feel his body I can feel his bones, not as much as when I first got him, but he is also long and lanky, the vet didn’t say there was anything wrong with his weight. Mine is on limited pellets (1/4 timothy pellets) unlimited hay and veggies twice a day.

My friend has a bun about 1 year old and you can easily feel her ribs. I think its normal

Is Blossom the bunny in your picture there? My Kahlua is also a lionhead and VERY slight. She eats whatever she wants, and she has no regard for her figure or eating like a lady when banana is involved, but she has remained very small. You could definitely feel her ribs easily. But for her it’s a good weight-steady for years and vet is happy with her. So it may be the breed?

When you go for your exam, the vet can give you proper feedback on her weight, and will likely weigh her-so you’ll know what a good weight is for her. Kahlua is 1.4 kg or just about 3 lbs

When Wooly was little, he was pretty boney too. He has filled out since then, but you can still feel some things a little bit.

Feeling ribs is not abnormal – I can easily feel Otto’s ribs and even his backbone (thought it doesn’t poke out, I can tell it’s there when I’m petting him). Especially in young rabbits they can be kind of lanky and take a while to fill out (if they even fill out). I wouldn’t worry about fattening her up – she’s getting plenty of food.

My friend had a Lionhead and beneath under all of that fur, he was a small guy!
