Hazel makes a sound that is similar to a low-pitched chirp. She often does it when she’s coming towards me or is in my general vicinity. It isn’t a grunting sound (I don’t think), and she never acts aggressively while making the noise. I assume it’s a good noise, but I don’t know exactly what it means. She did it before when she is unspayed and circled me, but now she’s been spayed for a month, so I’m not sure what’s up. Just curious!

Is it a high pitched honk? Maybe? lol

Hmm okay, so these are the noises a rabbit makes that I’ve heard personally. Honking sounds sort of like a piglet softly grunting, it’s usually low sounding. Grunting/growling you’ll definitely know when you hear it, it just sounds so aggressive and like a sound you wouldn’t think a rabbit could make. I know when rabbits make a high pitched chirping sound usually it’s supposed to mean they’re in pain, however mine will make the sound randomly. It sounds like it’s definitely a sound meaning she’s happy or trying to court you or saying she loves you.

HOLY CRAP! DOMINO LOVES ME!? Can she even feel love? Lol.

Domino makes those noises when she sees me. At first I thought it was breathing from respiratory issues, but she makes it kind of like… idk how to explain it, but it wasn’t her lungs. Right now I’m sitting on my bed and can’t hear it, but once I get up and move towards the cage she starts making it. I ALWAYS though it was aggression towards me once I realized it wasn’t respiratory, since she never really seem affectionate like Nava. Maybe she doesnt know how to show her love like Nava does? *shrugs* But I would never expect it to be an “I love you”. While making the sounds though she never lunged at me, scratched or nipped me (which when she is unhappy she does all of that).

Then again, now that I think of it Nava makes the exact same sounds (but lighter) when I pick her up (she likes to cuddle).

My rabbit is spayed, and STILL honks at me occasionally haha. In fact, when I let her into my room last night, I herd her honking <3

                Its so cute, isn’t it?

I would think different bunnies would have different voices. When Wooly grunts it isn’t very low-pitched. That’s why it’s so adorable because he’s trying to act tough but he’s really just cute. Neither of my rabbits have ever honked, but I imagine it can sound different for different buns.

Yeah, I agree. Domino is deeper and louder then Nava. Nava’s more quit and gentle.

Eeyore just started making little chirping sounds when he’s nuzzling his sister. We had no idea what it meant since he’s neutered and we’ve never heard it before. But it’s followed by him humping her. It’s higher pitched and quite loud occasionally.

That still sounds like hormonal sounds.  My single rabbit was making a low buzz/hum sound the other morning and he has been neutered for 4 years now.
