Hazel’s first ever veterinary appointment is today! YAY! That means we get to check out her snuffly and congested nose, urinary tract for possible UTI, and get her all set up for her spay! I can’t wait, mostly because she is on a peeing streak every time I let her out of her cage. Darn hormonal rabbits. Wish us luck!

Good luck! You’ll feel better knowing that you’ve gotten her checked out. Let us know what the vet says.

The vet said she is most likely just being hormonal; she doesn’t seem painful upon bladder palpation, so she doesn’t suspect a UTI. She also said Hazel’s snuffles could be caused by the heater being turned on recently and blowing dust around. We’re going to wait and see if it resolves. Otherwise it was an uneventful trip – teeth good, all of her organs palpated normally, and she was on her best behavior. Whenever the vet put her down from looking at her Hazel hopped over to me and started licking me like crazy lol. Her spay is tomorrow at 1, and I’ll be there the whole time watching.

Glad it’s not a UTI! Isn’t it such a relief to have a good check up? Hope her spay goes well tomorrow and that that will be the fix to her peeing!

                    Good to hear!

Just want to ask what litter (or bedding if any) you use? One of my rabbits used to sneeze a bit and has a wet nose when I used a wood based litter. It cleared up after I stopped using it.

Good luck tomorrow! You’re in a unique position being able to watch the surgery!

                      It’s a cellulose-based rabbit litter.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I’ll keep you all updated!
