Wilbur is sooooooooo mad at me for taking her to the vet. She’s been hiding in a corner undrneath my bed since we got home and it’s been a couple hours. She came out, saw me, and ran back under. She probably thinks I’m the meanest person in the world right now. How can I help her not be so scarred from going to the vet? I am giving her space and avoiding my room as much as possible so she’ll be comfortable. Her spay was moved to Thursday and I feel like it’s going to be even worse that time because she’ll be in pain.

Not much you can do. Give her time, maybe even a day and she’ll be ok. When I stress Samson I usually add a couple extra veggies to her pen and leave her be, she’ll let me know when she’s forgiven me

I thought you meant the vet had scarred her physically. Whew!
She is just giving you rabbitude. You can try bribes (their favorite reason for treating you like the Damned.) Or you can hang out in your room, ignore her, and see if she comes out to sniff around you eventually. It will probably be to stand several feet away from you and give herself an elaborate bath.

Or, just ignore her back. She will still want dinner, breakfast, and general pets so the sulking will eventually end. They all do it. She’ll be fine Thursday, and will be coming out of anesthesia and a procedure afterward so will not be thinking about sulking.

Oh that would be awful if she had ): Good to know that it won’t be worse on Thursday. I’ll try giving her a little apple slice. Thank you both for your advice!

Haha, Powder hated me after his last vet trip – but he got over it. Craisins help. They are kind of like kids, they get sulky if they had to do something they didn’t want to.

Hahah yes, she came running towards me and then I think she remembered because she turned and flicked her feet at me!

Same thing here, after the last trip to the vet Mr. Bun-Bun was mad at me for a solid three days. He wouldn’t come when called anymore and lunged at me if I put my hand in his condo. They get really bratty, it’s true! It’s for their own good and they have no idea. I advise to just ignore her, she’ll be begging for attention soon enough, even if it takes a couple days!

Oh P.S. good luck with the spay! I think the anaesthetic and pain meds make them groggy so she might not be as mad. Lots of treats will help her mood, hope she has a nice quick recovery!
