I just discovered Care Credit Veterinary is avaliable for Australians!

Maybe it’s been around a while but I’ve never come across it here. Of course, it’s likely only applicable if your vet accepts Care Credit but perhaps more will do so in time.  There is zero insurance policies that cover rabbits so this is a bonus to have some sort of financial assistance.

!!! My vet clinic accepts it!  *Binky!*

That’s great news – thanks for posting the link. I didn’t remember that you can’t get pet insurance there.

That’s great. Usually the deferred finance charges (which is their promotional financing) is anything over $300.00…you might check with your vet how that would work at his/her office. It’s been a lifesaver for me.

Thanks. I’m due to take the buns in for their calici vaccinations so I’ll definitely be asking for extra info.

Pam, there is pet insurance but only covers cats & dogs. Insurance for pet rabbits is lacking world-wide it seems. I believe it’s only VPI that offers cover for rabbits in the US.

Sarita, you’re pretty savvy on insurance… I think you should start a company!

                  Hmm. No iguana insurance. Bummer.

That’s ok. It’s illegal to have pet iguana in Australia anyway.  Bummer.

ETA: Maybe I should post about care credit on some australian sites. I seem to be the only Aussie kicking around on here these days.

I’ve just discovered CareCredit accounts are no longer available here. Care credit was done through GE Finance and they now refer to Gem Visa as an option.
There is also another program I saw a pamphlet for in my vets clinic: VetPay http://www.vetpay.com.au/
So thats another option for Australian members.
