I was watching the bunnies sleep while I was on my lap top and they were both flopped out sound asleep. Lulu kept twitching her mouth and her ears and would sometimes move her head up or down. When our cats do that, we always say they are dreaming. By the wa her lips were moving she must have been eating something very nommy! In the past few days when Mocha is zonked out, I have herd him chattering hist teeth. Is this just something they do when they are ” dreaming” or would it be something related to teeth problems.

Just wanted to share what my bunnies do in there sleep and ask about the chattering.

What do your bunnies do in there sleep?

Chacha keeps her ears up.. or one ear up, one ear down. Sometimes, when she thinks the coast is clear, she puts both ears down.. unless she is really angry at me and wanting me to pet her I get her signals mixed up sometimes lol!

I wonder what bunnies ultimately dream about!

Otto twitches quite a bit when he’s in a really deep sleep. His mouth moves around (I say he’s talking in his sleep), his eyebrows twitch up and down, and he nods his head. It’s so funny to watch!

I almost never see Hannah do anything strange while sleeping – she’s too alert to flop out of go into a very deep sleep while we’re hanging around.

Jessica (looks like a fat Cha Cha):  NEVER closes her eyes.  The closest she gets is half closed.  She looks like she is always ready for anything.

Tobey:  Major flopper……looks like he’s dead sometimes.  Some leg movements (running through a grassy field I guess), but usually knocked out cold.  One of the few times to get some pets in.

Jessica guards him when he sleeps & if I get too close she’ll nudge him.  What a team.

Squirrel runs in his sleep. It’s funny watching his little feet go nuts while he’s flopped on his side He also eats in his sleep too. So does Moose and Smudge.

Mocha- That pic is so sweet! I just want to tuck him in with a little blankie.

Bindi makes little chewing motions, I assume dreaming of food, maybe “BananaLand”.  Olivia just sleeps flat on her side, sometimes she will twitch her little hands. I very rarely catch Stormy in a deep sleep. He’s usually just loafed in his house. Always on guard.

Thats how Lulu normally is! This is the first time I have seen her in such a deep sleep!

Does anyone have any idea on why Mocha chatters his teeth when he sleeps? I am stumped. Maybe he is trying to scare away the evil Clara in his dream ( clara is our cat who ALWAYS bothers the bunnies.).

Wilbur chatters her teeth too while sleeping, I always thought it was just a louder tooth purr. When she lays on her side her ear goes over her eye (:

My bunnies don’t sleep. They must be some form of “bunicala” Lol. Just kidding. I honestly never witnessed my bunnies sleep… is that normal? Their in my bedroom, so Idk if they wait till I’m asleep or when I’m not home (because when I’m home my room is active with activity, animals and people and that magical tv box. Haha)

I do know animals dream. Why shouldn’t they? Animals are smarter then what some humans give them credit for. I’m a wiz abour rats, and I know they did studies on rats sleeping and they dream about their day and other rattie stuff. Haha.

                              Mandyyyy,
Just a gentle reminder that we prefer the members don’t reply to older posts. This one isn’t that old, a month, but you can kind of tell if it’s run its course if the previous post was 4 weeks ago or so. Please notice when you do a search and read posts what the starting date was. It’s important since many situations are already resolved, or questions answered, and the person who posted gets a notice of your reply.

By all means read as many older posts as you like. They are chock full of great information, and often answer your own questions by giving good answers to someone who asked already.
