The fur is growing back in on one side, but as this started about a week ago, the other side started loosing fur too. This has been going on for about five weeks. She has no problem with letting me touch and mess with the bald spots, so they don’t cause her any pain. Also, they don’t seem to have any signs of an infection, as there is no crustiness or discoloration. She’s a cross between a Californian and a Flemish Giant and is about 10 months old. I know it’s not fur-pulling from pregnancy, as she’s lived with me for two months. I bought her from a farmer who kept his bunnies outdoors. In the first week or so at my place, she did seem to have some sort of itchiness that has gone away. Any thoughts as to what this mysterious baldness could be?
Thanks for your advice in advance!

It kind of reminds me of my dad’s alopecia.

Maybe fur mites. I would have a vet look at her.

I was kind of hoping someone else would have an idea. I would like the money I have for the vet to go towards her spay.

It sounds like she needs to go in for a general check up. Honestly, things will happen

If it is mites, there is no home remedy for it. A vet would be the best to making a diagnosis and giving medicine for something like that.

I agree. It could be some sort of parasite, especially since she was outdoors. Will she be going in for a pre-op checkup? You could just ask the vet about it then. I believe there is a shot they can give them for external parasites.

Where is the balding exactly? Wooly is naturally thin on the back of his neck and it kind of circles around behind his ears.
