A creature of habit, Remmy is very particular about bedtime norms.  For a while it has been the norm that the lights must be off and Garion and I must be lying down in bed in order for him to rest.  If the lights are on, or if I sit up in bed, he gets upset and rattles the cage.  I used to think that this was just because usually when I am in the room he is out of the cage and running around doing his thing, but when I go to sleep he has to stay in the cage, so if I am awake he thinks he should be out.  However, now I am not so sure that’s all it is, because tonight I was downstairs doing some late-night work on the computer and Garion was in bed lying down with the lights off, but Remmy got upset and would not stop rattling the cage until I came back into the room and laid down next to the cage!  Is this something I should be worried about?  What does it mean?

I could be completey wrong but sounds like youre kind of his comfort factor…meaning he feels safe to sleep with you there…and the fact the routine was thrown off may have upset him…bunnies are creatures of habit and routine

Bunnies love routine, and hate when their silly humans deviate from it.   .

Zeus is the same way.  Every night he gets his dinner right before bed, then I close his cage door, turn off the lights and crawl into bed.  Zeus’s cage is right next to my bed.  He waits until I’m laying down, then has some of his dinner, then eats some hay, then takes a doze himself.  Every night, it’s the same thing.  If I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or whatever, he’s bouncing around wanting to come out.  I usually give him a few pets in his cage, give him a treat, then I lay back down and he settles back in.
